To heck with sugar free, dude, you need some carbs before the workout, i drink it during my wormup sets. Its ok, nothing special but combined with some caffeine (think starbuck esspressos) red bull does do something for you energy wise.
Dont know what but it gives me some energy to get through my workout
I've had the Red Bull type drink twice in my life and hated it. I prefer regular coffee of iced coffee in the summer when it gets hot! (i live in Greece)
I never believed in Red Bull or the various off-shoots or it. it reminds me of the syrup in Slush Puppies (remember those?) Gatorade is good if carbs are needed for energy- it is cheaper and you get more.

I was mainly asking because...when I go out to bars and clubs I like to sip on a lil something...I stopped drinking alcohol so I was looking for a better alternative that I can order at your typcial bar or club, besides water. so, I thought about energy drinks, the caffiene will help my metabolism and it will keep me wired in the bar
