If you ate 2 plates of pasta they day before you can be sure that you have enough liver/muscle glycogen stores, however... In the morning sugar levels are very low and you cannot really unleash the liver glycogen until you manipulate your inluline by eating something.
Therefore working out in the moring:
- Not eating at all before wieghttraining/cardio is not adviceable, unable to tap into your energy reserves, protein/muscle wasting can occur.
- Eating a large meal and training shortly afterwards is also not advicable as your body is busy with digestion in regards with working out with weights and especially for cardio purposes you spike too much insuline to access your fatreserves
- Eat a small meal, an apple and some cottage cheese or a protein shake.....This will be enough glycogen to get your brain functioning allowing for better CNS effort and also just elevates insuline to the minmimum point so that the liver glycogen can be accesed. Also keeping the meal small, your body don't put too much blood / energy into the stomach , therefor it doesn't hinder your weights training.
