'emo' people need to have their fucking face beat in with golf clubs

FOr the record Fugazi and Minor Threat still ROCK!

Its funny but a lot of people are into these bands but have never heard them. Its very in to be into them and black flag and they basically all suck really bad in my opinion. And people like the fact they suck because it means no one else will like them, giving their tastes a phony exclusive vibe. Because its all about being unique and different even if you suck hard.

does anyone else here hate the whole 'emo' scene more than I do? you know, those fucking people that think bands like weezer and dashboard confessionals are soo good. these are the fucking people that dress in black and hang around starbucks coffee with their smartass snot-nosed friends to tell each other how 'differrent' and 'witty' they truly are. the guys in this scene are the fucking worst. they are the anorexic vegan types that are all 'in to' their feelings and are usually the sarcastic artist types that think they are overly funny and on a different level than everyone else.

emo music fucking sucks. it is all the same old whiny shit about breakups, being 'different', and being in touch with your feelings. what pussy ass, water'ed down shit. girls seem to like it, but go figure. girls have the *WORST* fucking taste in music. but yes, when you see kids in gas station shirts, greasy hair, black rimmed glasses walking around in public, do me a favor, and break his god damn face open. and with that being said. here is a shameless plug for my friend's emo site.

Have you been hanging out in Lawrence, KS again?

I work with some fairly large punk and even 'emo' bands... Let me tell you that if any one of them wore a gas station shirt out, they'd probably lose half their audience. If you want to stereotype apparel, do it right: ehhem...

Emo Attire:
Tight jeans, preferrably tapered leg, but flare/straight cuts will also work. Studded belt, often worn to the side or out of a loop or two. Converse shoes (ct's). Shirts will often bear some stupid advertisement and will generally be childs medium in size. The shirt is often faded as well. Hair should be long and straight, but messy. Some more corporate emo kids will go for short hair with an "emo-hawk" which in some dimented way makes them feel tougher... go figure. Do not forget the most crucial accessories like wrist cuffs and sweat bands on the wrists. IF you are going to wear a watch, make sure it is a thick leather banded one like every other teenager on the planet has.

o and for the record... weezer is not technically emo. If you guys want some true emo shit i'll give you some songs to listen to. NOT dashboard, I personally feel that dashboard has more in common with Sting than they do with emo as a genre.

I didn't know they were called emos. I always just refered to them as bunch of young stupid fucks with no direction in their lives.

What is "EMO"? What does EMO stand for? Anything? Help a clueless old fart out here.

I`ll do one better than that. Not only don`t I know what an emo is, but I`ve never been in a Starbucks. lol

damn, I gotta get out more.

wow, stereotype much? I'm rich, good looking, havent been single for more than a week in the last couple years, date gorgeous girls, awesome body, great dresser, on a scholarship to debatably the best business school in canada... and hey, guess what? i enjoy listening to emo music! imagine that!? i listen to a incredibly broad spectrum of music, ranging from emo to classical. When i'm in certain states of mind, emo type music, which has a HUGE spectrum of its own, completely speaks to me. I'm in a great relationship right now with an absolutely knockout girl, yet I still like listening to some of this stuff. Who the fuck cares what music other people listen to? Sometimes emo just speaks to me, and inspires me in certain aspects of life. It tells me what i need to hear, and hey, it can sound real cool!

check out a band called silverstein or alexisonfire... its not some 100lbs weiner crying on a microphone. the shit will pump you up in the gym like never before, and also inspire you in the early hours of the morning when you're sitting at your computer trying to figure out just where the hell you're planning on going in life.
