As many of you should know now, the ombudsman really are the voice of the people now. There word matters and to be honest with all the members. We have changed the way leadership works with the members here on chat. So much so that now in most cases members will not even recieve a infraction from a mod unless a ombudsman has also looked over the incident with the mod and agreed with the way things are going to be handled.

This is how much we are trying to work with the members now and make sure that everything is kept honest and far to everyone at all times. We want the membership to know that we care about them and that no mod is going to be able to go on a power trip on any member, but that things are done respectfully for all parties. Everything is fair for all members and mods at all times.

I love elite and I know many of us love elite. I love all the members here and all of you have been like family to me over the years. The last thing I want is to treat any of you unfair or see one of you mistreated. I want this site to be fun for everyone and at the same time respectful to everyone who wants to be treated with a level of respect.

I would like for all of us to work together to make this site ( the chat forums) a place where any and everyone can have fun and feel welcome. A place that is entertaining for all. I do not want chat to be "dumb down" or like a damn sympathy center for the thin skin weak minded. people need to know that chat is going to be brass and push the limits but I would like for the forums to never be a place where some one is personally attacked. Or even feel like they have been.

I know I write to much :artist:, but please read everything I am saying and get involved. Take a little bit of extra time it takes to read and get involved and help make a difference for the site that you come and enjoy every day. It is the least any of us can do!

So ombudsman are very important people on the chat forums now. They oversee all of the actions taken by mod. They get involved with disputes between members vs member and mod vs member. They are a huge part of the administrative process on the chat forums now and there sole reason for being is to be a voice of reasons and a second opinion that leans more on the side of the members.

When ever a member is given a infraction, given a time out, or even banned here on the chat forums. A ombudsman not only will be but "must be" involved in the process from start to finish.

These are the names I am putting into the hat. If you do not want to be one just tell me and I will take you off the list. Now I would like the chat forum members to nominate the people they would like to see as there representative. Any member who gets a few explanations will make the list for voting.


In this thread I would like for the members to ether 1. throw a name out they would like to see be a representative or 2. Make a case for your self and explain why you would like to do the job and or think you would be good at it.

We will let this thread go on for a week or so. So that everyone can be heard. I may ask some members questions and some of the mods or other members may also ask questions of the members who wish to be a representative for the chat members on the site.. Lets all take the time to go over the subject, understand the nominees stance on things better and all that good shit...

how about we maybe hold a vote after people get nominated? who would be game for that? only regulars, mods, and known posters can vote, and you have to be nominated by multiple people to run.... does that sound good?

we can let strongbow run if he chooses to. but if he has to be nominated by 5-10 people to run for the position, it might be hard for him.

And I'd be a horrible choice, I'm too abrasive with my opinions. My mentorship lasted less than a week. The staff prefer a "yes ma'am" type for these positions.

I don't even know what satire is?:confused: But I do know how to have fun and I can tell the diffrence between a bro or sis having a good time and one trying to stir up shit. I have been in the middle of a few things in my time here and have a very good understanding of how it feels to be on the other side on the fence they call BANT. In my opinion who else would be better to argue for the peeps than me. Put all your psycho babble out of your mind a sec and think on that.

Bino's overall goodbro-ness and tenure at ef makes a strong case for this position. I mean, dude should have been made a mod years ago.

This was the point I was making, thanks Bro, and although I like Bino, I give him hell, and he returns the favor, I think mine and Plank's collective experience in Purg make us the only two logical candidates. Bino is a close 3rd on my list thou.

Miplank works for me. He has no time to be a ombudsman and if he did then he is not doing enough work for me. He has to much on his plate to have to run around dealing with this kind of work. :D

Just because we are so used to strongbows antics that we quit responding negatively, does not make him a "good deicision" when it comes to a serious position. WE arnt even sure if thats his real pic or not for god sakes. The dude is a product of lies, and probably doesnt even lift. His first avatar was of his "drivers liscence" and what i always thought was the chest of an asian, but regardless has completely different shape than his current avatar.

he says he will take things seriously but he hasnt DONE anything to prove it to us.

needtogetas started off having to fight tooth and nail because people harrased him over his spelling and such. he worked his ass off and started a successful supplament industry, and had to go through all the politics and bullshit to get where he is. had nothing handed to him. and THATS why he is a respectable leader.

Strongbow has done no such fighting, and no such work. he started off as a scumbag, and now we are just desensitized to his bullshit. while ombudsmans dont have all THAT much power to where i would feel threatened having him has one, i think that it will be a useless almost mascot style position if he is put in place.

if you want elite to be sucessful and actually have this position mean something, put someone who has at least demonstrated a semblance of maturity and intelligence, ALA CW, or Nimbus style of thinking.

You are growing on me though SB, but I dont think ombudsman is the job for you. Maybe after elite mentor a mod on one of the other forums (not chat); but not ombudsman. Dont take offense, we all cant be good at everything. Seems you are still pretty popular and just because someone says you wouldnt be right for the job does not mean they dont like you as a person.

It does not matter who ends up with the job, I'm so glad that we even have ombudsman here. I am a member of a UK based popular women's forum and the mods are out of control. I had to leave the site because I had become "unpopular" with the mods basically because I was an American and the mods would pick on certain girls and I would stick up for them. Groups of people leave all at once and they were left with nothing but a couple members and a bunch of mods to mod themsevles trying to get fresh members etc etc. It was a disaster.

If not I can live with it, I have other options for contribution to EF and the people.
