Eating Tuna

I brought a can of tuna home today to try it for the first time. I never really ate it before and wanted to give it a shot. I need to lose some fat without losing any muscle, I know hard to do, but I need to eliminate some of my carbs/fats and increase my protein intake. I'm not too worried just yet about losing weight as I am bulking right now, but I don't want to gain more fat. I gain all my fat in my mid section and I was looking in the mirror today and I need to do something. I'm an ecto with a pretty big gut.

Anyhow, I opened the can of tuna and gave it a try. All I can say is it was terrible. It smells like something my cat would eat. I forced myself to eat it and washed it down with water so I didn't have to taste it while I swallowed, but I don't think that I am going to be able to aquire a taste for it at all.

I need to find something convenient to eat that is high in protein and low in fat and carbs and won't bloat me. I was eating chicken for a while, but I am so tired of it that I get sick of the site of it anymore. I like red meat, but buying steak all the time would get too expensive and I would probably get sick of that after awhile.

Where do you guys get your protein? I drink whey shakes, but I want to be able to get most of my protein from food. Tuna would have been perfect if I could stomach it.

I am thinking about buying a juicer and juice some vegies that are high in protein. I am not big on vegies, but I could easily drink them if they were juiced.

Do you like seafood? Shrimp, scallops, and lobster are high in protein. Maybe you just need to change the way you prepare your meals. Shop for new sauces and marinades. Try different spices. Mix tuna with ultra low fat mayo. Add chicken to vegetable soup. There are tons of ways to prepare those meats. All you need is a little creativity.

Scoup the tuna out into a bowl, add 1/4 cup fat-free low sodium refried beans, and 1/4 cup low fat shredded cheddar cheese. Nuke it, and top it off w/ some hot sauce.
I just made it up one day off the top of my head. Now I eat it every day...tastes awesome!

Nutritional breakdown:
Cal 200
Pro 50
Carb 9
Fat 5.5
If u want more carbs u can also roll it up in a soft tortilla w/ some diced tomatoe.

the best but most forbidden thing to do with tuna is to mix in mayo :S

olive oil + lime juice = fast and decent enough to eat

Man i thought it was good. Can of tuna, 1/2c. cott. cheese with some chili powder and black pepper all on top of a baked potato.

I did the cottage and tuna thing too... It wasn't half bad...

anyway, nobody said cutting is simple: Dieting can be a bitch until you get to the point where food is just something you need to do... I should have teaken some pics of my Mountain of Chicken grocery list yesterday: 11 lbs of chicken breast... and that will only last 1 week...

Tuna is good in every aspect

I can eat a tuna, straight out of the can, first thing in the morning :)

I have been buying the Starkist Tuna Creations Hickory Smoked flavor and I can just eat it right out of the pack. The sodium isn't that bad on it either.
