Dropping Calories when CUTTING

Which is better?

To drop 250-300 calories a DAY

or

To drop 250-300 calories a WEEK?

Which worked better for you in terms of trying to lose fat at the same time save your new muscle? :coffee: :mix:

I am guessing 250-300 cal a week is going to be too slow...that's like...

3 months for a 1 pound loss seems like a little too long term for me...

300cal a week @ 12 weeks = 3600 cal = 1 pd lost...

it also depends on ur activity level Are u doin any cardio/weight training?......if so, cutting cals may not be the best idea (since it puts ur body in a "starving" mode which causes u to store fat easier). When i was cutting, i pretty much kept my caloric intake the same (only less on my days off from cardio/weights), but i hammered the hell out of my cardio sessions. The fat still came off.

imo you should do cardio at least 3 times a week when you're cutting. Training too much might work but it also might overtrain you. I've been on 2400-2600 for 5 weeks now & burning 1500 (ish) a week with cardio.

p.s. expect your leg workouts to suck ass until you're done with the cutting but a couple weeks after you're done you should be back to full strength

I was only planning to train each bodypart once a week for 45 mins. each(well except for legs, cause I usually do train them twice a week)

p.s. maybe doing too much cycling, running, or stair stepping is weakening your leg strength?
