We used to do these while lifting for football, but I never really got into them until this past year (5 yrs later). It is basically the very beginning stages of a powerclean (well sort of) start with hands shoulder width on barbell positioned at midthigh, knees slightly bent, In one continuous motion (takes practice) straighten your legs enabling you to get an extra burst of power as you shrug the bar up. Sorry for the terrible explanation but I hope it helps. Once you get used to these you can pack on a ton of weight and this really spurs my trap development. Give em a shot
