DAVIE, Fla. - When the White House extended an invitation to dine with President Bush, Dan Marino accepted, but Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban said no.

Saban said his obligations at training camp took priority over the chance to spend an evening with the president. Politics weren't a factor, he said

Good for him. It shows he's above the bullshit and is dedicated to his team. Dan is becoming more and more desperate for exposure it seems. I think, due to his injuries, he had to quit waaay before he wanted to so he's still yearning to be in the spotlight anyway he can

I don't know of many, if any NFL coaches would have attended that with camp in Full Swing.

Yea, he actually said publicly he would have loved to have attended,
but had other priorities with the team.
