Doing what works for you

That's good stuff... I've ALWAYS trained my whole body once a week, with different variations in rep cadence etc... and this has helped... I've found that working out 3 times a week is optimal, but I might try that whole body 2x a week Upper/Lower Upper/Lower on 4 days to see what happens...

I think the concencus for workouts are simply a generalization, or good starting point... it is then up to you to find out what works well for YOUR body... i.e. reps, sets, weight for each body part...

As a general rule, at least for myself, I have noticed the faster you gain, the faster you plateau. So once I hit a really good workout (One that I like and is working) I blast on it for a few weeks then switch it up. It doesnt even really have to be that different, sometimes as little as changing the order of the exercises is enough:)
But I agree with you, there is no objective "correct training."
