Doing cardio after your workout ?

I do not have time in the mornings to train because of 7:30am work. So I have been doing cardio late, usually around 9pm, after my weight training, which nutritionally speaking should be ok b/c you supposedly have a 2 hour window post workout. I usually am having my postworkout shake within one hour.
 
I always wondered about this.

Because I've read all over the place, it's imperitive to eat IMMEDIATELY after your workout. So add 20 minutes for cardio, and it takes me another 15 minutes to walk home.... that's 35 minutes after my workout.

regarding a post workout protein/carb drink (30 grams whey and 75 grams carbs using a 50/50 mix of dextrose/maltodextrin) that should be consumed ASAP, but the window is about an hour. you would want to follow that up with a meal of "real" food an 1-1.5 hours later.
 
Post workout is tha only time I do cardio. Your heart rate is already elivated do to your workout and it does not require a 5-10 minute warmup. 20-30 minutes is all you need.
