Totally Disagree

I think that you guys who have pointed out that the media is largely to blame for societal attitudes towards AS are right. However, it is not merely "news" media: movies such as "The Program" (which someone pointed out), the After School Special with Ben Affleck, The Lyle Alzado story in SI, etc., perpetuate the steroids-are-like-crack-mentality. I was guilty of it myself. Until I started researching I thought that all gear in any dose was an evil deed.

Guess what? I have hit my genetic limits and, in essence, gowing to the gym now is more maintenance than anything else. I want to continually make progress and I know there is only 1 way to do it.

The argument above that the laws should remain the same (by frack, I believe) is terrible. People take drugs, have surgeries (e.g., breast implants, face lifts, hair transplants) and the like for purely cosmetic purposes. At one time, that was also frowned upon. Surely the risks of an invasive surgery are greater than those associated with responsible AS use. Moreover, these people feel better about themselves. I don't think that what you guys are doing (I haven't used yet) is any different.

If the laws remain the same, you will have to keep looking out the peephole whenever you get your stuff. Try explaining your felony conviction when you send out your next resume. I believe that relaxing the laws on gear use would prompt more people to see doctors to monitor their body chemistry, blood, etc.

As for the booze/cigarette argument, you have to keep in mind that this is the biggest source of revenue for federal and state governments other than income tax.

Finally, are there any med students/physicians out there? What do they actually teach you in medical school about gear?

Good post - It's really a straaaaaange feeling being on gear with all the bad propaganda..

Fuck, if I told my white collar/management pussy whipped/Friends&Ally Mcbeal watching colleagues they would look at me like a monster.. (although I suspect most of them think I'm on gear anyway) - On the other hand if I told them I had an alcohol or twinkie problem they would pat me on the head and show empathy...

Anyway, thanks to the stigma it's received Gear is considered the most evil substance on earth. My girlfriend used to be that way - she would be sympathetic to a crack head - "Oh, the poor bastard has been addicted and taken in by crack" but was convinced anybody on gear is an asshole.. Now she's on it and doesn't feel the same way.

Now let's summarize and wrap up this little report:

Society Feels:

- Fat is acceptable and should be "understood"

- Krispy Kreme & Dunkin Donuts are breakfast

- Estrogen is good

- Tesosterone is bad ..

- Muscle is self serving and evil

Until the above list changes I'll keep my gear use in the dark.

I think that most people beleive that we are worst than cocaine or heroin users.

Here's how I break it down.

There are two distinct groups of people who are against drugs;

The conservative assholes who sip on their Brandy and whiskey every night with a pack and a half of cigarettes and a couple of cigars; They beleive all drugs are equally bad unless they are prescribed by a drug dealer in a white coat.

The compasionate assholes who beleive that ALL drug users are really victims of drug dealers; They beleive that all users are "addicts" who can't help themselves. They fell bad for these people who are really just victims.

Juicers are drug users who actually look better than the average population and are in many cases healthier. This goes against these peoples beliefs, it contradicts what they have been taught; so, yes, they hate us more than cocaine users, but deep down they want to look like us.

i have friends whos lives went down the shitter because of recreational drug use.

heres what one of my friends who decided not to goto college to stay with one of his friends who happens to be a drug dealer and gives him pot for free had to say:

"dude you dont even know what your getting into man, this shit can really fuck your life up."

ok buddy. i have a 3.7 gpa, and you, oh yea youre a drop/burnout

but of course im still the bad guy.
