Does the US get free oil from Irag or a discounted price?

didn't say the rest of the world was any different. OPEC is like a union though.......at one point threre was merit for it's existence, but now it's swung in the opposite direction. But free market forces "do" still act on OPEC...........however, Iran and Venezuela getting chummy is a problem. Which is why we need an alternative energy plan "NOW". Otherwise we can be strongarmed.........kind of like what China is doing with us now.

So what role does the defacto monopoly otherwise called OPEC play in this?

How does OPEC contribute to anything resembling a free market economy?

it's precisely because it will take years to switch our dependence that we went into Iraq
to keep the mid-east stable and threaten Iran to keep little hitler in line
not to mention the rest of the world (i.e. India and China)
can't have a world wide depression because the sand apes are causing a ruckus

I was 11 when the first arab oil embargo took place
I remember the panic and the gas lines

do we not have to take some sort of blame for getting ourselves into that situation in the first place? I mean.......it's not like this situation was unforseeable. It's not like the muslims were ever benevolent to the west.............so isn't it kind of a given that eventually they were going to figure out they had leverage on us? It was greed bro...........utter greed!!
