Does the Body4Life program work & questions about HIIT combined w/ weight training?

I bought the Body for Life book a few weeks ago but I have'nt really tried to do the program yet. As of this morning I will give it a try for a few weeks and see what kind of results I get. However I'm wondering if anyone else here has tried to use the book and if it worked for them.

Yesterday I posted a topic about needing to lose 60 pounds and I got a lot of good advice. Today however I have a few questions about High Intensity Interval Training combined with weight training.

Yesterday I did my first session of HIIT at a park near my home. Basically my wife and I alternated between jogging and brisk walking around the park for about 15-20 minutes. It felt great after I finished, I really got a good workout. In the Body for Life book it suggests that you do HIIT 3 times a week every other day.

But I'm wondering, is it beneficial to do this kind of training everyday even during the days that I weight train?

Lets say that during a typical week I did the HIIT at least 6 days and on maybe 3-4 of those days I did the HIIT more than once. Will that help me to rapidly shed weight? (hopefully 50-60 in 2-3 months)

Here's another question: In addition to the HIIT I plan on hitting the weights hard, what kind of program should a big guy follow to get larger and well defined muscles? (Currently I weigh about 267-270 but I'm very solid. I'm not an extremely flabby person, in fact I think thats why its so hard for me to notice a change in weight whenever I first start working out.)

Finally my last question I'm going to make the ultimate sacrifice and begin to eat right. Unfortunately I'm a very picky eater, there are a lot of foods that I don't like so it makes to difficult for me to change my eating habits. Can someone give me a few varied meal suggestions that will help me to burn the fat? In particular breakfast is the hardest meal of the day for me to get through.

Thanks for any advice or answers you can give me

Lets see first things first..does Body for life work?--yes, if you eat less and get more physical activity you will lose weight. Should you do HIT at the same time you are weightlifting? If you want to lose weight than yes. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn. Please do not tell me that you want to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, very hard to do and no substantial muscle will come from it. Eat right, train right, and definatly incorporate cardio into workouts, three times a week sounds good. Goodluck.

For some reason I have a hard time losing weight, even when I improve my eating habits and work out more. For example about 2 months ago I tried a low carb program and I also increased my areobic activity and weight training. Instead of losing weight I actually gained a few pounds, although I think I did lose maybe a inch. So basically what I'm really hoping to acheive for the next few weeks is to lose significant weight, since I seem to put on muscle easily I would like to just cut the fat and weight and then start adding the muscle. I'm hoping lots of HIIT will do this for me.
