Does Ephedrine Based products help Cardio?

Shankerr said:
hehe, well, I'd say at 190, you're gettin pretty close to the point that your heart actually will beat out of your chest, and at 200, you're getting even closer.. Its not a case of being out of shape, but a heart rate of 200 for any reason isn't healthy at all.... Do that for too long at once, and you may as well pre-book your ambulance and a nice windowside bed in the cardiology ward before you even go to the gym.

Ideally, if you're between 18 and 35 years old, I like to see a heart rate between 135 and 160bpm for fat burning and strengthening the heart... If you're over 40 years old, I'd say don't go over 160bpm if you can help it, and try to maintain your rate at about 125-130bpm fopr best results.

If you're taking ephedrine hydrochloride, or any other ephedra based supplement, all you have to do is watch your heart rate a bit more closely. If you're at 160, and climbing, back off a bit.. If you're at 200, you've overdone it, so back way the hell off.... Just pay attention, and take your heart rate every few minutes to make sure you're still in the zone!

Gotcha. Looks like I can pretty much just do low intensity cardio, as with low intensity I am easily in the 145-165 BPM range. BTW, I'm only 21 years old.

I use to have probs where I would get so tired and would literally have my vision go black and my hearing would decrease in sensitivity followed by a long test tone pattern. I did numerous EKGs and even a Treadmill test where the symptons were reproduced. They checked it out and after all was said and done the doctor just told me I was seriously out of shape. That was about 4 months ago. So I would like to think I'm doing slightly better. :) But I guess with the MD6 I am easily reaching 180-190BPM with my average BPM at about 174 at moderate intensity.

So, at 190+ BPM could it actually result in a heart attack? I hope not. I'll definately be keeping a closer eye on things. Who knows, the gym 'pulse' sensors built into the handle bars are probably not accurate at all anyways. So I'll find out my true heart rate tomorrow. :)

Avoid it!

my advice to you sincerely is to avoid these products (diet pills, ephedrine, etc.) regardless of what you've been reading on the web.

Ephedrine is a serious drug.

As far as your question, it will help you do cardio for longer and more intensely.

yes, it definitively helps

you "feel" tired later
you have more energy
it helps burn fats
