Does Ephedrine Based products help Cardio?

Hi guys,

I have been told different things by different people. Some folks tell me that the increased Metabolic rate will infact help your cardio health by strengthening your heart, others tell me it makes no differences, while still others say it hurts your heart.

Would love to hear opinions on it. Thanks.

Unless you had pre-existing health problems or failed to follow the directions properly I doubt it would hurt. As for improving conditioning, I guess it could. I'd make the analogy to running a mile faster every day then you usually do since the ECA would cause your body to fatigue much more quickly like pushing yourself further would.

The only thing that worries me sometimes is that I'll work out while taking the MD6, and my heart rate will get to 200 BPM, which is pretty high I think. Should I be concerned about that? Before the MD6 I averaged about 165 BPM.

Personally I dont like ephedrine before cardio, now before lifting I can handle.

make sure you drink plenty of water, should be fine unless you have high blood-pressure or any other heart conditions, stay away from ephedra and all stimulants, unless your doc makes ya take some

So really no one knows for sure if it helps out/strengthens your cardio health? I have done a lot of research on Ephredra and stuff and other stimulants and it seems Ephdrine is pretty same, the only folks that have had problems or died from it took 2 to 3 times the recommended dose and did some hardcore intense exercises without drinking enough water.

Would love to know if anyone else has any info on this. Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean by "helps out/strengthens" - ephedrine is a CNS stimulant and a bronchiodialator. Taking it and not working out will not in and of itself improve your cardiovascular health, it'll just give you a buzz (CNS stimulation) and help you breathe easier (bronchiodialation). If you get winded easily during cardio, on the other hand, ephedrine would help your stamina - and by virtue of working out harder, your cardio fitness would improve.

Here's an example of this in practice: during my last bulking cycle, I did no cardio. (And got fat as hell, but that doesn't come into the story.) My cardiovascular fitness has never been anything to write home about, but it was absolute shit at the beginning of my cutting cycle. I took small amounts of ephedrine (6.25mg - 12.5mg) prior to cardiovascular work to start, and was able to run a lot harder and longer as a result of the ephedrine boost. After a month or so, my cardio fitness was decent enough that I didn't need a CNS and lung boost to maintain a good running pace, and I dropped the pre-cardio ephedrine.

I like ephedrine for cardio, stimulates the CNS gives you a buzz, increases your heart rate, etc etc. I just find that it helps me dump fat and water faster.

If your heart rate is 200bpm, that however, would be something to be concerned about, I wouldn't go a whole lot higher than 170 if you could help it....

So I should be concerned at my heart rate being between 170-200 BPM? I don't feel bad at all, until I get it up around 190, then ti feels like its gonna beat outta my chest. Am I just really out of shape?

hehe, well, I'd say at 190, you're gettin pretty close to the point that your heart actually will beat out of your chest, and at 200, you're getting even closer.. Its not a case of being out of shape, but a heart rate of 200 for any reason isn't healthy at all.... Do that for too long at once, and you may as well pre-book your ambulance and a nice windowside bed in the cardiology ward before you even go to the gym.

Ideally, if you're between 18 and 35 years old, I like to see a heart rate between 135 and 160bpm for fat burning and strengthening the heart... If you're over 40 years old, I'd say don't go over 160bpm if you can help it, and try to maintain your rate at about 125-130bpm fopr best results.

If you're taking ephedrine hydrochloride, or any other ephedra based supplement, all you have to do is watch your heart rate a bit more closely. If you're at 160, and climbing, back off a bit.. If you're at 200, you've overdone it, so back way the hell off.... Just pay attention, and take your heart rate every few minutes to make sure you're still in the zone!
