Does arimidex help with hairloss during cycles? no finasteride?

i read on a forum a while ago that taking arimidex can help with hair loss when on cycle is this true? i just googled it and couldnt find the article/thread again....

i was gonna run finasteride while on cycle a while back for hair loss and thats when i stumbled upon the above information that running arimidex during the cycle would not only help with estrogen sides, but help with hair loss and there was no need for finasteride... this was a test e only cycle btw

thanks in advance for your input!

no it doesn't. helps wit test aromatizing but not wen it converts to dht. i asked this question on another board and this is what they told me.

So should I run finasteride then? I believe I read before that it interferes with one thing or another and/or either causes negative effects. I'm sorry I can't remember the details... Sorry It's been a while and I'm rusty...

One more quick question: can you just take ifinasteride on cycle and then stop after the cycle or should you take it forever/for long periods of time once u start?

im not really sure. finasteride (proscar) isn't even approved for treatment of hair loss, it's used for prostate cancer. but bodybuilders have had success with it or so they claim. i kno that if u start using propecia u have to use it forever but i think proscar is the same since they do have the same active ingredient. why don't u do some research on other options first, maybe shampoos that interfere with DHT receptors in the scalp? i've heard of others with great success using them. do some extensive research and try to find out what may be helpful to you first before starting this cycle. if you're really concerned about hair loss, then you should take your time before starting. otherwise, take finasteride based on the experience other bodybuilders have had with it.

thanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions. yeah i think i'm gonna get some shampoo. i'm gonna ask the lady during my next hair cut

Considering the esther of the compound taken. Deca can stay in the system for several weeks after the last dose so plan accordingly.

Calm down there buddy... he's right the only difference is the dosage.
What I do is I cut up the 5mg pills into 4 and have them once a day.. comes up to 1.25mg

By the way... Does anyone with experience know what brand is a good shampoo for hair loss?

i did say they have the same active ingredient uh duhh. anyways my brother is fighting hair loss right now and he said for shampoos, revivogen or nioxin are good brands. revivogen has all-natural dht blockers and nioxin has anti-dht formula. he said either, or

What you said was:
finasteride (proscar) isn't even approved for treatment of hair loss, it's used for prostate cancer.

Both of these statements are false. No need to use profanity. If you know something that makes these statements true, why not explain so we can all learn?

oh no you're right with the difference in dosages. but i am right when i said proscar wasn't intended to treat hair loss but containing the same active ingredient, it is a cheaper and milder form of propecia. and ya i meant prostate enlargement for the use of proscar not cancer. but it is being studied right now as a drug that can possibly prevent prostate cancer (that's where i got confused). propecia on the other hand is proscar x 2 containg twice the mg of finasteride than the other brand name proscar.

"Finasteride was approved initially in 1992 as Proscar, a treatment for prostate enlargement, but the sponsor had studied 1 mg of finasteride and demonstrated hair growth in male pattern hair loss. In 1997, the USFDA approved finasteride to treat male pattern hair loss. Merck sells it under the brand name Propecia."

so yea. proscar came first to treat prostate enlargement. then they discovered that the active ingredient (finasteride) could treat/prevent hairloss given at a higher dosage. based on the different dosages, Merck has made it to two different products with two different uses. the milder (proscar) for prostate enlargement and the stronger (propecia) for hairloss.

brand name proscar isn't sold for hairloss but it can be used for it because of the same active ingredient as propecia. to simplify my last post.

My doctor has mentioned this as a possible preventative measure against prostate cancer. He said he suspects it might be useful for men who have a genetic predispostion to developing prostate cancer. A prophylactic treatment.

according to this article, it's useful to all men whether you're genetically vulnerable to getting prostate cancer or not.

"NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Finasteride (Proscar) reduces the risk of prostate cancer in all men, regardless of their risk level for the disease, new research shows.
In the Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial, finasteride treatment cut the risk of prostate cancer by 25 percent. Whether this was because the drug prevented the cancer from forming or because it effectively treated early disease was unclear, Dr. Ian M. Thompson, from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and colleagues note.
The new findings, reported in the journal Urology, suggest that the drug has both effects."

reducing the risk by 25% is a blessing when you're dealing with the Titan that cancer is.
