Does anyone else use brown rice protein powder?

Hi everyone,

I've been using brown rice protein powder for a few months now. I notice I digest it better than whey. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to incorporate whey again, but I need a good quality brand with no chemicals, artificial sweeteners, etc. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello friends,

Most protein powders are dairy-based and are generally marketed as whey or casein. Other varieties include egg or soy-based powders with additional plant-based products such as hempseed, pea, chia seed, and brown rice. Protein powders are considered supplements by the Food and Drug Administration and thus their claims are not regulated, nor reviewed before they hit the market. While protein helps keep us fuller longer, there is no conclusive finding as to how the same amounts of protein from powders compare to consuming a similar amount of protein from whole foods. That said, protein powders are generally highly processed products that are fortified with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, many listing artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives prominently in the ingredient list. Therefore, be forewarned you are ingesting more than just pure protein when choosing a powder.

Thanks a lot

I do not know about chemicals, fake sweeteners, etc., but I heard egg white powders are good.

Brown rice powder...
first I've heard of this. Does it come in chocolate, strawberry, etc? Bizarre.

Sent from my htc t-bolt using the elitefitness app.

I just finished my brown rice protein. I thought it was like drinking clay but drank it none the less. I didnt find it any easier ir worse to diGest,I sometimes mixed half of it with whey protein. Are you using lactose free whey? Ive been told that if you drink it for a long time your body can create an intolerance (charles poliquins theory) so its good to have a break for a while and reintroduce it later.

I have never tried brown rice protein powder. I usually just go for whey. Are you diary or lactose intolerant? I have used Soy protein powder as a lactose alternative in the past as this has a great mineral profile not found in Dairy Protein.
