Very curious as to how open you guys are regarding your AAS use.

Apart from two of my boys who I train with from time to time, my supplier and people on forums, I haven't told a soul about my steroid usage.

The missus, good friends, colleagues have no fucking idea. I find this secretive behaviour to be a little concerning, but people have such a negative stereotype about roids and such a skewered view about their apparent dangers that I find it tiresome to defend it.

That's also a big reason I haven't touched Halo/Tren/Anadrol for fear of being too inconspicuous about my drug use. TBH I feel guilty about this, I find this kind of secretive behaviour to be somewhat dishonourable. I have no problem with AAS use, from an ethical and medical standpoint, why should I hide it? Just because other people's uninformed and skewered perception? And since I will be using intermittently for years to come, I am really thinking about coming clean. Waking up at 4:30 in the morning to stick a pin in my ass to avoid alarming the missus is getting a tad annoying.

So how open are you about your usage? Let's poll this
 
I don't feel it's total taboo. I think more average joes use them then people think. I tell people that I know are/were users if the conversation is presented but that's about it.

I have been using aas for 3 years now, have told nobody. People dont tryely understand steroids and immediatly steriotype you as a monster. I know people will judge me and think less of me. I really wish i could be one of those people that dont give a fuck

My wife knows and a couple of friends that I don't go to the gym with know. I didnt tell my gym buddies to keep things low key in the gym since they do have loud mouths. Also, I try not to advertise it bringing that kind of attention to myself because of all the stereotype.

My training partner and GF know. At one point I was really freaked out about people knowing but to be honest I was accused of it before I ever touched it so whatever.
 
This could be a two part question as well - 1) do you tell people? 2) if someone asks, do you admit to it?

I read a discussion in a different forum that was bringing every damn supplement into play as a basic genetic modification that was as bad as AAS. They basically spouted off that creatine ingestion and steroids equally gave a person an advantage over a truly "natty" person.

In the end, people do judge too quickly. Unfortunately dumb people who don't research, who abuse, and get hurt have created the negative stereotype surrounding AAS and many other great things in life.

One life, one body, do what you want with it but be smart. Who cares what anyone else thinks.
 
The wife knows. I only tell some training partners about my TRT and prohormone use since they're more socially acceptable. My doc only knows about the TRT he prescribes. There was one doc when I was younger who I told about my prohormone use only because I was stupid and didn't do a solid PCT. Thankfully he was understanding and prescribed me tamoxifen. It's really just a need-to-know basis for me.

OP- I totally understand the feeling of guilt that comes with the secretive nature of this lifestyle, but it's part of the game.

It is part of the game but I admire people who have the integrity and courage to say fuck it and stand by their guns that steroid use can be safe and beneficial. I used to be a meth addict as a teen and turned my life around, and I talk about that all the time. I work with troubled teens and I want to be a good role model, and part of that is not to be secretive. I mean I despise guys like Kalimuscle who denies his use, conning teens into believing his physique is achievable naturally.

My gf I've been with now for over a year knows everything, as does some of my family, and some close friends... I will say by not having to hide my usage has helped take most anxiety i was experiencing away, lowered my blood pressure, and gave me more of a sense of well being when I did come out about it... I was married for 5 years and hid usage for 3 years. We are now divorced with that being a big part of it...

Completely different lifestyle when you are with someone that wants to understand why you use what you use, rather than being with someone that you have to hide your usage from and judges based of lack of information and common stereotypes given off from the general public. And trying to educate idiots is a waste of time...

In general, always be discret whom you discuss usage with. Because at the end of the day, unless you are scripted, you probably have some sort of illegal substance on you, and haters do crazy shit!!! I had a buddy that got pulled over leaving the gym by a sheriff that said they received a tip he had illegal steroids in his car that he had been selling at his gym... and this is one weeks before comp... thankfully he didn't have anything on him... oddly enough, two guys that did the same show lift at his gym and look like shit. Sounds like someone was trying to rid themselves of their competition. So always be discret....

My girl and my brother know (who runs cycles with me). Other than that no one knows. It's no one else's business IMO.
 
Sort of. Friends who are into booze, or weed, when we get to talking I just tell them, "hey, if you are going to do a drug, do one that will make you stronger; not weaker, fat, dumb, and lazy."

Now if we can get legislators on board with that logic our country we be golden!
 
My wife knows everything I do. As far as everyone else, its none of their business. "Rock quote" ditto for me. But then again I don't give a f..k what people think cause 95% of them have no idea what there talking about!!!

I'm pretty open about it, hell even my parents know, and I'm old, Lol! :-)

Then again, I used to do a lot of bad stuff for quite a while as a kid/teen, so it's a bit unordinary scenario with me. People who are close to me are just happy I don't lie to them about what I use anymore, and I got so fed up with lying about my use during my time as an addict that I just can't stand doing it anymore... Besides I stopped giving a fuck about what people who have no idea what they are talking about think.
Still, I'm not "screaming it from roof tops", Lol! I live in small town, and have bad enough rap as it is O:-)

So people close to me know.

ah but it wasn't legislatures that passed the weed laws in WA or CO. it was the voters who got it on the ballot and then pushed the shit out of it.

good luck finding enough juiceheads with the brains to round up signatures for a ballot initiative and then advertising the shit out of it. juiceheads are notoriously in the closet about steroid use, while potheads prance around bragging about it all the time like its their religion.

I don't have a problem with legalizing AAS use without a Rx.. I do however have a major problem with idiots who have no business using or who are underage using. whether they legalize it or not its not gonna make a difference, you will still have idiots who use these powerful hormones anyway. and if you made people take a class or something its still not gonna stop a 16 year old from asking a 21 year old to buy them some .. its a mess all around

this is true however it will also help reduce the amount of,bunk gear, there was individual who passed away in Australia due to crappy gear. No matter how much u control was there's still gonna b idiots abusing it. That's with anything in life.
 
That can be true a,degree. But that comes with the,stigma that a couple cycles makes,u look like a roid muncher. Tho tru if ur near ur genetic potential but not,so if ur not. Some people can do 5 cycles and still have a physique that is attainable naturally, tho impressive, still attainable
 
My wife knows everything about my use, I don't even bother with anyone else because of the ignorance surrounding steroids! My wife was the same until I got her into researching the gear I use! I can't be bothered having to justify myself to anyone!!
