Yes, it sucks.. give the gum a shot when you're ready, I tried with the patch a few times and the gum just worked much better for me.

Smoked for like 13 years. Quit 2 years ago. Only time I smoke now is when I drink. one beer and it's "give me a ciggarette". Actually the other night I made it to 4 beers before I broke down and had one.
