A volume that just happens to weigh 8 pounds.
Please don't get all Fonz on us.
If you mean actually use your head and think.....oh god it must hurt you to do so.
Anyways, biteme is right...its a measure of volume.
But the point is mute b/c the density of water is 1000g/m^3(Or 1Kg/m^3 which is more widely used).
That being (1L = 1000ml = 1m^3) = 1000g
And a Gallon is 3.78L or 3780ml.
1 pound(metric) = 0.454Kg or 454g or 454ml
1 PINT(UK) = 568ml
1 PINT(US) = 470ml
There are differences in US and EU measuring units. Hence why a lot of screw-ups happen in engineering sometimes.
The EU metric system is MUCH, MUCH simpler and easier to use.
Anyways, if you guys say you drink on average 2-2.5 gallons/day, I think you're a bit off.
Thats 7.56 + 1.92 = (7.56 - 9.48)L/day
Nobody drinks that much.
I'd estimate more like 1-1.5 Gallons/day, or (3.78 - 5.67)L/day
= (3780ml - 5670ml)/day
That would be a better approx. of what a person who does strenous activity drinks per day.
