Do you ever pay attention to your sodium intake?

So I've started to get a lot more anal about my diet and something that I have been completly blown away by is the high amount of sodium that is taken in without concious effort. Today I've already taken in over 4000mg sodium and I'm not ever near done eating.

Disgusting. Getting complete control is going to be harder than I first realized. It's all about the results though. I have some abs begging to be shown off and I need to heed thier call.

I did but I no longer do because :

* I've not experienced noticeable water retention w/ a high sodium diet
* salt gives taste :p

I get sick water retention as a result of the sodium. I have switched over the the Mrs. Dash spices and that alone has started to increase my vascularity. For me sodium is bad news.

I always look at the sodium. The recommended daily allowance is 1500 mg's. That isn't very much. It's easy to keep your sodium down if you stay away from canned or boxed food. I tend to eat a lot of chicken, tuna and fresh foods.

I do, and I'm a diehard salt lover. Mrs. Dash is great for meats, and try some vinegar on vegetables. If you can deal with the smell that is.

Your kidneys can handle it (provided they're healthy), just be sure you're drinking enough water to flush it out. 1 to 1.5 gallons/day is a good start. I drink almost 2 some days.

Only when being a stingent bastard on a cuttin diet... I dont salt my food tho and dont eat a TON of manufactured foods
