Just wondering how many of you guys drink soda. I been staying away from it for a long time and just recently started drinking diet, maybe 1-2 cans a day, but other than that just water.

water, green tea, milk, 100% fruit juice, or crystal light.

i'll drink diet pop or regular, whichever if im drinking some captain n cokes or captain n sprites

i really like captain and sprite zero

lotsa water though and protein shakes.

Man I drink the shit out of diet soda, Crystal light, and water.

It's all good IMO. I do not drink the regular sodas though.

Water, once in the while if I am craving something sweet I will have a diet soda, soda is one of worst things one can drink however. if you drink every day you should try to stop

mostly water, 2 cans of coke zero.. drink a little bit of reg. soda on the weekend but during teh week, no reg. soda, no coffee..

captain and coke huh? way to keep the carbs off! lol.. this I say after drinking 4 budlights tonight! haven't had alcohol in ages.. we gotta cheat sometime!

I'm like Selene, if I'm "craving" something sweet I'll drink a diet soda. Otherwise, just water.

I poured out an unfinished can of Diet Coke yesterday. Halfway through it tasted too sweet.

I drank 4 beers on new years and somehow by the time I woke up New Yrs Day my cell phone wound up in my kitchen sink submerged in a dirty protein drink glass filled with water. $300 phone is history! Actually I think I got happy new yr txt msgs from all of my friends and my phone vibed itself into the sink on it's own. I couldn't have been that fucked up.

I drink about a 2 litre of diet a day-especially if I'm dieting and drowning everything in hot sauce.

my mom is a dietician and she told me that the sodium in soda makes you more thirsty so your thirst is never completely quenched when you drink a soda, the same thing with Gatorade

I LOVE a regular coke. i only drink on the weekends if i do, and if im not running cycle. started trt up saturday, doubtful if i'll drink more than once per month on a saturday night. just be a few at most.

If I would feel a lil hypo at the gym, I used to get a quick can of coke out of the machine. They are a rip off for gatoraid there, $2.50 for the small little bottle. I bring my own special mix now though.

For the most part, my daily liquids are a gallon to a gallon and a half of plain water, 3-4 cups of fresh brewed green tea, orange juice with creatine and glutamine with breakfast and crystal light. I try to stay away from most juices as you might as well be drinking soda anyway.

For crystal light, I mix half a container per gallon of water. You are supposed to use one whole container per half gallon, but it's too sweet tasting otherwise for me.

I drink diet soda, and of course water,

Curious what affect you guys think diet soda has on your gut.

In other words do you think it can give a beer gut?

i love diet soda...fuck i wish i didnt so much...i drink lots of milk and water also though...probably 2 diet sodas a day...sometimesmore....

same here. ive lost intrest in soda, even diet, its just too thick and sweet. yuck. but if you have ever tryed those crystal lite to go packs, those are the best. you just buy a case of 20oz water and dump in a premixed pack of crystal lite.

The diet sodas aren't bad on the waist line, but sometimes too much artificial sweetner such as splenda and sweet n low can make it harder to get rid of those last few lbs of water/fat. But we are talking about an extreme contest diet when you are trying to pull it all together that last week. I doubt for the rest of the year or for someone looking to get into good shape that it would make much of a difference.

I forget, is there much sodium in those diet colas? I haven't had one in a while.

I do drink diet soda when I get tired of water, though I do believe artificial sweeteners have been linked to certain forms of cancer. Water is still the bodybuilder's best friend IMHO.

Saccharin thats in Sweet n' low has shown to cause cancer in rats. And I believe the stuff used in splenda and sugar twin has shown to cause old timers.

reg and diet soda has 30-40 grams of sodium and gatorade has like 270 grams. thirst, bloat wut more can you ask for?

Don't like diet. Used to drink maybe 1 regular coke/day and hardly any water...since the kindey stones I drink lots of water and stay away from soda...maybe half a can when I get the urge. When I drink it now It seems way too sweet.

I think the artificial sweetener linked to alzhimers is Aspertame, not Sucralose.

Hey, stop listening to your mom, look at the back, soda barely has any sodium, If I remember correctly which I usually do, pepsi has 35mg of sodium which comes out to 1% of your daily value in an entire 12 oz can, and most soda's are either between 1% and 2% of the daily value so don't go saying shit that you don't know shit about! you have to be an idiot to think soda has 30-40 grams and gatorade 270, get out of here!

You don't have to be an idiot to think that. It's just a mistake. Why make an enemy over a can of pop? At some point in the future he may have some helpful info for you. Ease up bro.

I'm not trying to make an enemy, just trying to help the board out by reducing the amount of stupid, non-factual posts we have. People should think twice before they post stuff as factual, or atleast cover themselves by saying there not sure.

My bad its MG instead of Grams bro but a soda is between 30 and 40 mg in a 12oz serving, wut if you drink a couple a day or a two liter and gatorade does have 110 mg per 8oz 270 mg per 20oz serving thats 11%, thats more than a bag of chips or a bucket of McNasties french fries so if someone is trying to cutback on the sodium do you think thats what they want, no, so yeah I admit i made a typo but I still have a point think about it and stay off my ass smart guy

Alright, my bad bro , you just made a mistake. my point is that a couple of diet cokes isn't going to bloat you and if you read on the can it says its not a significant source of sodium. On the other hand, good point about the gatorade, but mcdonalds french fries have more sodium then that.

its all good chestmaster, my bad for getting so defensive, you gotta hold your own up in here, and I also know you were just trying to keep bad info from spreading.

I try to avoid sodas all the time; once in a while I drink diet, knowing that is the same poison for my body; the only difference is the amount of sugar but the real garbage is all the chemicals inside.

"Old timers disease" LOL. I started drinking diet sodas as a little kid because all my mom would buy was Tab, one of the first diet sodas , if not the first. the saccharin in it was shown to cause cancer in rats in some outrageous ungodly amount. so i've been drinking diet sodas only for over 40 years, can't stand the sugary ones. having one right now with a fine cigar, it helps cleanse my palate. i drink 1 1/2 to 2 gals of water a day, been doing that for over ten years. gawd , i pee alot though.

I once got an email aboout how most (if not all) diet sodas contain aspartame, and drinking them reguraly like 1 or 2 a day, is detrimental to your health. Cant remember exactly what it supposedly gave you but some pretty severe shit, if you are one of the unluky ones.

Lmao, I love these "aspartame causes cancer" people. People have been using these things for decades with no outcome, but people still sing that song.

man i thought drinkin diet coke was really bad for you......i guess its not so bad since all u guys drink it too.....ill drink like almost a liter a day sometimes

I drink about 6 cans of the caffeine-free Diet Coke. I would like to know from those who say it is bad exactly what is bad with it. I am not training to get to 3% Body fat. I forget where I read it but something said that it tricked your body into releasing more insulin because the body "thought" it was a sugar. That statement is a real stretch for me.

Ugghhh...the dreaded diet soda and sweetener debate....God, I could go a good year or two without seeing another one of these.

These debates at the Diet discussion boards, are the equivalent of the "Can I drink Winny" or "Is dbol for my first cycle" threads here on the AAS board.

What an old thread but I'll add my 2 cents.
I have a can of pepsi every Friday. I try to drink water throughout the day. I will have one coffee in the morning that I made and sip on it while I drive to work. That's about it.

my mom is a dietician and she told me that the sodium in soda makes you more thirsty so your thirst is never completely quenched when you drink a soda, the same thing with Gatorade
not sure anout the sodium content but its loaded with carbs & about 14 Grams of sugar

Water with equal and a squeezed lemon, or Green tea with equal & a squeezed lemon

Ya Gatorade has 110mg sodium / 8oz.. Ridiculous

I drink water, milk, and zipfizz. Legit stuff
10 cals, no sugar, 905 mg potassium, only 60mg sodium, 2500 mcg b12.. So much more

I stay away from regular soda, but will have diet once in awhile, especially with pretzels. Other than that, I stick with coffee, water, and Zero.

Only water for me. I haven't had a pop in over 5yrs; they're for fatties. I'll have a half galling jug to measure daily and will put just a tiny bit of crystal light in it to break up the monotony.

No soda or diet soda. Drink water all day. Have a gallon jug that I add crystal light to. Have one glass of skim milk everyday, and one pre-work out drink before the gym.
