Cuz most long hair guys are either totally skinny or totally fat (ignoring the biker "fat" look), and 90% of them don't know how to take care of themselves in life, have no goals, and still live at home with mom. That said, it gives the impression to all women, that long haired guys -- unless they're on stage on mtv, or fighting with swords at a renaissance faire -- are like total losers.
The only reason the 80s were differnet, was cuz back then, those poofed-up aqua-net guys had million-dollar record contracts. And we know how much women love money.

I had rather long hair up to some weeks ago and it definately worked for me, but it was a pain in the ass. it's a ladykiller when it is clean and in position, but extra bad when it is not. I cut it off because it wasn't worth the time for me. but when I cleaned and styled it right it looked good on me.

in a nutshell: long hair is only attractive is attached to a wrestler, a biker, or a rich wannabee with a million dollar record contract -- in which case he could look like ron jeremy and still get laid.
as for me. my hair is so fucking long (over 3 feet) it's beyond the "long hair" category, and into the "dayum" fascination category women put me into. Problem is: they love to yank on it in clubs and it fucking annoys me to no end.

Pretty much every guy on this board is the token "nice guy" and you'll never hear anyone claim to be anything else. But all you hear in real life is hot chicks that date and get treated like shit from "assholes". Well who are these guys? Where do they exist? And why do they always seem to attract the hottest chicks?
Well *I* was one of them! And goddamit you women FUCKING LOVED ME! to no end.
Years ago, when I was 21+ -- i had short hair, young and a bone to pick with the world. I dated TONS of chicks, and I would BEAT them, YELL at them, CHEAT on them, STALK them, HARASS them, make them feel like SHIT, and adding insult to injury, make them BUY shit for me. You heard me correct:
I would punch, pull, slap them to no end. I'd go into their work and yell at them in front of their co-workers. I'd pull over the car on the freeway and yell and punch them and kick them out of the car. I'd cause scenes in casinos. I'd sleep with their best friends. I'd have new gf's call my current gf's and tell them how much they loved me. I'd make gf's feel guilty, just so they can buy me stuff. I'd spit on them. I'd yell at their parents. I'd yell at their friends. I didn't give a shit.
Oh and I'm sure when they met me they ALL thought I had great "attitude". I had piercing green eyes, muscular, tall and looked like john stamos with a rebel streak. Hell I could steal other guys gf's in a club. Let's put it that way (and did!). It was unbelievable:
I mean, i even had FAMILY MEMBERS come steal gf's out of my house and fly them across the country cuz they were afraid i would seriously harm them one day. I'd have cops show up at my house and warn me to stay away from my gf -- only to have the gf show up 2 hours later, apologizing for calling the cops. Hell, I would even throw clothing and furniture out on the street to show them lessons. I was asshole to the FUCKING T.
But they "loved" me. Not a SINGLE gf (and ALL of them were HOT! I'd have guys always ask how come I got the hottest chicks???) ever left me on her own. They always kept coming back. I even beat-up ex-bfs trying to be knights in shining armor. I was that fucking out of control.

But you know what. I HATED myself. I was suicidal, and knew either I was gonna be in jail, or wind up dead. The one day -- I had an epiphany. In 99 I had enough, quit my job, moved out of CT and the nightmare there, and onwards to LA. I didn't even want to look in the mirror and be reminded of the monster I was, so i started growing my hair, swore to never hit another person again or make them cry, put all my anger into a passion for guitar -- and make something constructive out of my life.
Hence, I became...."a nice guy".
Oh, and women stopped being attracted to me. For that very such reason.
But I didn't care. I was HAPPY with me. I had actual GOALS in life. I had positive people around me, and yeah I don't have 20 chicks around me now. But i felt better with what I do and who *I* was. And that's all that mattered.
So NOW when I hear about women dating assholes and keep going back to them -- I know all about it. Cuz *I* was one of them.
And yes. I had "attitude". Fucking OOZES of it.

I think a lot of people are overlooking something here. Women are not attracted to assholes in general, they're attracted to natural leaders as all of us are. Every animal is. It's how we survive. The one who appears to be a leader just happens to be the one who is confident, maybe even arrogant. The man who walks around like he owns the place, like the alphamale marking his territory.
I used to go out with these two guys, both of whom i believe were abusive, one I know had raped a chick. These guys were assholes, but when we went out we got girls, because we owned the fucking place. I also have a group of friends that I go to clubs with, all of us are good looking cocky bastards, but None of us are abusive assholes, yet we all get tons of girls. These guys are nicer than me and get even more girls.
It is the attitude, not whether or not they'll be abusive. I don't understand how some guys who think that they're "nice guys" by letting everyone walk all over them find it unfair that girls don't want them. Being the follower who says "I can do that for you" isn't attractive.

It is not about whether or not a guys is an abusive asshole with attitude... it is whether the guy just has attitude - the alpha male thing is very attractive. It takes a bit of time to see whether or not that guy is a nice guy or not. An abusive asshole shows himself IMMEDIATELY. If a girl has selfesteem issues, she will ignore all the red flags (been there, done that).
So now I am taking my time to see which of these alpha males is cocky to some extent but is a good guy deep down or if he is NOT good guy deep down.
There aren't just two groups: ABUSIVE ASSHOLES and STRAIGHT UP NICE GUYS... there are many who fall somewhere inbetween. That is why there is a process called "dating" - so that one can weed them out.
