Disappointed with Gains (Part 2)

You can't expect to stay lean when over 80% of your caloric intake is coming from fats and carbohydrates. You should try to keep your protein somewhere in the area of 50%, with about 30-35, coming from mostly complex carbs and the rest from fat.

My body, in response to the overtraining, was probably catabolic to some degree (trust me there were a lot of signs of almost like a chronic catabolic state). So my body was tryingt build muscle, tear it down, etc.

You said it yourself!

I really dont want to "point" people to a specific answer, I am really looking to learn here,

But what is wierd about this is, is it possible to be sort of catabolic with respect to gaining lean mass (hardly gaining any, or maybe gaining slightky, losing slightly, with only slight upward gain over time), but yet have your body accumulate fat at the same time?

I figured if I was overtraining, that my body would be eating/consuming.tearing down EVERYTHING and especially fat!

Sorry, it doesn't work that way, when your body is overtrained, it gets ride of muscle not fat; that in turn can actually make you fatter.

Overtraining is esssentially a lack of the right calories. Sure you can still overtrain even if you are consuming 400g of protein but it will be much easier to overtrain on 125grams of protein.

True overtraining is actually very serious, your body needs to do something for survival. It's not getting enough calories to rebuild and fuel your body so it needs to conserve calories. It has two choices; get ride of muscle or get rid of fat.

To maintain 1lb of Fat; about 2calories
To maintain 1lb of Muscle: 20 calories(or 50, not sure)

Obviously the lbm is what needs to go.

Bro, if your not taking in enough cals as in your case, your metabolism will slow down. I ahve a similar situation myself, but not as extreme. I recently figured out how many claories I should be eating, and my BMR was like 4600 cals!!!WTF!!! You might need to gradually rev up your metabolism. I read something where one guy was dieting and for every pound of weight he lost he increased his cals by X. I don't know though, just a thought.
It might also be that you have poor insulin sensitvity.
