Dieticians & Nutritionists

Are any of you dieticians or nutritionists? :supercool

How much do you earn per hour? :coffee:

When I did it for a living it really depended on a client, you can PM or email me with further questions.

Good post, I was curious about this as well. I was interested in studying this field, but I was not sure if the money is there or not and whether you have to work freelance or if you can depend on a steady paycheck etc.

I think the average income annually is around $40,000, lower levels are around $20,000

Mine charges $90 for the inital consult and second visit then $45 for each follow up after the second visit.

All hourly rates are misleading because they don't tell you how many hours one works. Basically, my work week varied from 10-50 hours, sometimes up to 70. Average pay was between 30,000 (when I started) to 127,000 and up.

I actually was interested in pursuing (and encouraged by my girlfriend and family) a job as a dietician/nutritionist. 127k is pretty fuckin' nice, Mr. X. Obviously, that's cream of the crop. I heard entry level was around 44k, but obviously it depends on your reputation and clientele.

I'm not so informed as to what's considered descent these days to live somewhere on Long Island (since I know it's kind've expensive out here) but...what's an average, mediocre, middle-class salary look like annually? For someone looking to live single, let's say.

Honestly, you're probably going to see salaries around $40K as the median and for some that will top off their money making potential. Some advice for all you upcoming stars - go to your local doctors and give them your card with your website and information about your service so they distribute it to their clients that have eating disorders (high/low). Just make sure you're certified and have a good standing (and a member) of the AMA.
