HI all looking for some advice on losing weight. I am a 42 gulp almost 43 year old woman, 5 4 1/2 inches tall weighting 141 lbs presently. I recently had breast implants and this is where the muscle definition started fell off I feel. I was unable to lift weights for almost 3 mts. In addition I had some lipo off backs of legs but feel it moved from legs to area I never had it before in tummy. My abs were my greatest asset.

Diet, My excuse has been I feel like Britney Speers lately. Work out hard in mornings (6:30 am) and then after super lay around with my new husband... I have had diets from body builders at gym but they are so full of protein they plug me up so bad. I am prone to constipation and really hate to rely on laxitives to keep me moving. My diet has to consist of fruits or alot of fiber. I haven't been able to find one that works...looking for some advice from you gals.

A typical day of eating is this. I eat 1/2 cup of oatmeal in morning with dried cranberries and use sweet and low (1 pkg) on it for breakfast. I take a high B complex vitamin, flax oil, and L glutimin (however you spell it). I do eat fruit cause it keeps me regular but willing to try something else. IS it the fruit that is sabotaging me? Im not one for protein shakes but will use vanilla based ones if It is suggested. I will eat for lunch soup and sandwitch at work (egg salad, tuna, samon) or take salad and mix can of tuna in it along with low fat ranch dressing. Supper consists of brown rice, or potatoes, broc or carrots steammed with chicken or fish. We do eat rather healthy and my portion size is size of my fist as a rule for potatoe/rice. But I eat more veggies.

I work out 5 times a week with husband and we work 2 body parts a week starting like this ..1) chest, 2) quads and triceps, 3) back, 4)hamstrings and biceps, 5) shoulders calves. I usually do 12 to 15 reps of no matter what I do 4 sets. We work each body part 4 to 5 different exercises. I lift to max and don't go light weights as my endurance level is high. On occassion we will do drop sets and have altered exercises to change it up.

I know my diet really needs cleanned up and am prepared to do that. I have dabbled in Clem and Stacks and am thinking of trying something different to give me the definition I once had before surgery.

As for cardio I have a stationary bike I ride every morning for 20 mins to 30 mins. I even on occassion will slip down and ride bike after supper.

I have been lifting weights for few years and have always been very active person. This is the most I ever weight besides giving birth to 3 kids. I played sports or some form of exercise all my life. I love lifting weights and the high I get from it.

Lastely, I am thinking of using the clem along with a diet suggested from you gals...............thanks :rose:

What are your goals? I had a weight gain after implants as well, and had to up my cardio a bit. Also had to decrease carbs signifigantly. Do you just want to get back to pre-implant weight?

My goal is to get some definition back and lose 5 to 9 lbs. It is where I feel best.

Welcome to the boards PG! I'm not far behind you ... looking at the big 4-0 in a few months. I've also done the implant thing. Also w/ lipo, since you had some fat cells removed, if your diet is introducing fat that you aren't burning, it will look for a new place to deposit, e.g. your stomach. So that I guess is all just part of the lipo process. I was also down for the count after my surgery, however I started training for a bodybuilding show 3 months after I had them (unders). It was rough at first to break up the scar tissue for chest training, but after some work it was ok.

RE: digesting protein - ginger root is good for helping to process protein mixes. We used it extensively for helping scuba divers not toss their cookies on the rocking dive boat. As far as what you are eating and your particular need for help with constipation, I would say first, enter your daily meal plan into a food counts program -- several of us use http://www.fitday.com -- it takes a little bit to set up your customized foods, but after that it goes pretty quickly. That will tell you what you are really putting into your system. Then you can look at any tweaks you need to make, if you are getting enough protein, carb, fat, etc.

Generally, you didn't mention how long you've been following the particular regimen that you described, but if it's been for a while, you might also be stalling out a little just from your body having adapted to its current fuel & workload.

I'd recommend taking a look at the stickies at the top of the board - several of the girls have been following a diet & training schedule that our own The Shadow has put together with amazing results!

Welcome & congrats on your new "girls"!

Oh, I forgot to address this -- "clem" -- I assume you are referring to clenbuteral? Personally I don't feel it is necessary to go to non-OTC drugs to achieve results. I think you can get fine results w/ an optimized diet & training, and an OTC thermo that you tolerate well.
