I just wanted to make a dedication to Elitefitness.com.. is it just me or is this the BEST Board on the net?

I don't know about the best board on the net, but it definetely keeps my attention.There are alot of responses on this board.You don't have to wait a week for a reply to a topic.And some boards are filled with idiots who like to flame people and cause havoc.Seems like everyone on this board is dedicated to improving themselves and helping others out in the process.I'm satisfied with it.

i liked it a lot over summer, then i just recently visited again to ask questions and check it out, just in time to discover platinum membership.

Yeah I just checked out Triedia.com... looking very promising.. well have to see how it compares to Elite..

I think the whole platinum membership thing was a mistake on George's part.

I like Elite. I've learned more about diet and training here in six months than I learned in maybe five years prior.
Of course there's a certain amount of bullshit to wade through. That's true on any board. Triedia for example will experience the same thing as their membership increases. To me, there a relatively few differences among the different fitness/AS boards. They look the same, a lot of the same types of conversations going on.....the main difference is the membership size.
I think Elite is suffering a little because of it's large numbers. Posting a question on the AS board is getting to be almost useless because of it's volume. But that's really not a problem on the Training, Diet, and Supps boards which is where I get a lot of good info.

That is huge! Plus I am just not that impressed with the way this board has been going lately. Platinum will get very very few new members in my opinion. Not too many people are gonna pay for something they can get for free on many other boards. As more and more people from elite visit other boards and trust me it is happening. Why pay to see their pics here when they are posting them elsewere. Its not as if there is any other benefit to Platinum than that. I mean what else do you get to be able to go to elite select discussion. That is not a major selling point, and as I said before with members posting pics on other boards and such why pay for it here.

I didn't pay for the Platinum thing so I could gawk at pictures. I paid because, as someone who works in the IT field, I know what it takes to run a site like this. I also know the value of the information I've received from some of the people on this board. There are some EXTREMELY knowledgeable people on this board from whom I've learned a great deal. So, to me, that's more than worth $12 per month.
I know there are some who can't afford it or who think it's unreasonable. For them, most of the boards remain free. But for those who bitch about Platinum, I have one question for you: Since this is primarily a chat board and not a picture board, how can you complain when you've still got access to all this fitness information for free? No one is forcing Platinum on anyone.
Thats kinda what I was talking about bro there isnt a big selling point to just missing out on the pics when the pics are normally on another free site and I do like the boards that are still free so why should I pay if its freegymtime said:
Bro that means your saying you paid without having to. You are basically paying for nothing then. I am not flaming you as I have been a big fan of your posts for awhile and truly admire your knowledge. If you ask me people that contribute as much as you do with your knowledge shouldnt have to pay because you earn your keep here
I wasnt bitching about platinum bro I was simply saying almost what you did, that the important parts of the board are still free which doesnt give much of a selling point for platinum. I have nothing to bitch about because I do not miss out on anything that is important to me.

Sorry man, I guess I missed your point. I just don't think the Platinum thing was ever intended as a selling point. They must have known that as soon as they start charging for something that was free up to that point, that it would piss people off.
For me, I know that the money I'm spending for Platinum is wasted in the sense that I could do exactly what I normally do on this board for free without it. But I didn't do it for that. I did it because I wanted to help support something that has helped me out a great deal. That's it. Many don't look at it that way and that's fine. The fact remains that, as you said, you now have to pay for something here that other boards offer for free. That's a simple supply-and-demand kind of thing. I can hardly knock someone for chosing not to pay for that.
Anyway, no offense intended there bro.
