deadlifts

My back stays tightly arched the entire time, and I'm pressing out against my belt. I feel it mostly in my hips and hamstrings due to my style.

Go learn how to do a deadlift, with proper form, and then come tell me if you still think it isolates your lower back. :D

If it DOES, it could be because your back is too weak to support the move and you're overcompensating with it.
