I performed some deadlifts today... nothing too challenging..

I did 3 warmups 135X5, 225X3 315x3

365X5 was my work set it didnt feel too heavy. few hours later my lower middle back is sore, not to the touch but there is a dull ache there. It also hurts when I twist. Its nothing major just wanted to know what it could be,.. the rest of my workout was fine...

It could be that you just have a sore muscle. Most people are not used to the feeling that sore back muscles give. If you are not used to working those muscles in that fashion...they they may feel "weird". If it is a bad pain in 2-3 days still...then you probably have a form problem. I still don't suggest doing reps much...too much of a chance of form breaking down.

I just started doing deadlifts last week. I've been running for two years, and I have been doing leg curls & extensions & squats, etc... my hamstrings were killing me for six days! I can finally walk upstairs now.

Deadlifts= Ouch! Indeed!

I usually have a dull ache the next day too. And a few hours after deads my back hurts sometimes too. A couple days later it doesnt hurt at all.

I usually have someone watching my form, so i think it is good. It used to hurt for a long time (3 or more days) and then i started doing ab work for a couple weeks and the constant pain dissapeared.

Doesnt everyones back ache after deads at least a little bit?

well the ache is not in my lumbars muscle but on my spine... maybe little muscles that run up it are sore...

I did good though...

last week my max was 425lbs... My all time max is 585lbs so I have some ways to go...

at least 2-3 weeks :p

Here are two links of me deadlifting...not perfect..but you can get a good idea...

Deadlifts will kick your ass. They sort of sneak up on you later in the week. I suggest only doing them every 14 days if you are going at them hard. They are extremely tough on the body, but the rewards are phenomenal.

I started deadlifts last week - No major pain! Must be the conditioning from all my squats and sprints. There is a dull ache in my butt, but that could be from the reverse lunges I started doing as well. Hmm but I lift heavy stuff off the floor all the time at work, so I guess that's like deadlifting ;)

I love it. It joins, squats, front squats, jump snatchs and vertical jumping as my fav exercises! I just love these power moves :)

Juts gotta keep your butt and lower back tight and slighty arched. Knees slightly bent

though after working out 3 days in a row, each one quite intense.
Legs, upper body and then legs, I'm feeling a bit iffy. I need to take the rest fo the week off to recup :(
