Deadlift

today was back day and I was busting out some deads when this bodybuilder came up and asked if he could work in with me. I was like sure. after the I was done, I asked him how my form was for deadlifts, and he said that it was pretty damn good. now that was just motivating to hear coming from a dude who's 6'3, 232 and freaking HYOOG(pretty ripped). this guy was like twice as thick as I was as far as chest goes, but his waist was almost smaller than MINE! this guy was a freak, but the point of this post was, it was pretty nice hearing someone say that my form was pretty good on deads since no one EVER does deads at my gym, and this guy happened to want to bust some deads with me. awesome.

another uplifting moment brought to you by the People's Champ.

You were sexually attracted to him, weren't you?? :D

Just kidding bro - but seriously - I know exactly what you mean!! It's incredible how much a few simple words from a fellow lifter can motivate you!! I had a killer squat session last week after a two month lay-off and the only thing that got me through it was the encouragement of this guy that offered to spot me...

Just something to think about - if you see someone pulling heavy deads at the gym - and you're impressed - tell the bro what you think!!! Support the team!!

Where do you train bro?! No one else does deads? Not even stiff leg? (my favourite exercise) Does make ya feel good to get encouragement from a more advanced lifter. I was doing inclines the other day, without a spotter. I was about to max on my last set, so I asked some guy to help out. He stood beside me to start, then he tried to spot me from the front! He tried to stick his fucking groin in my face! Needless to say a racked the weight and finished my set. Don't know if he just didn't know what he was doing, or trying to get off! What can ya do?!

I train at bally's. yeah, a family oriented gym. the guy also told me that there are deadlifting bars where they bend forward so the bar will not run in to your legs on the way up. this guy had some knowledge and it was like a breath of fresh air hearing what he had to say. actually, hearing it from someone else instead of reading it was an exhilirating experience.

Good to hear that pulls are making you get noticed.

Where can you get bars that bend so you can deadlift without hitting your knee's? Are they any good? Hitting my legs is one of the reasons I very rarely do normal deads. I always stiff leg, but very rarely normal dead.

I hear ya bro. The deadlift has to be THE most important lift, ever. Aside from squat :p

Just pull...and don't get close enough to the bar to scrape yourself. If the reason you are not doing deads is because it scrapes your leg...well...hmmmm.

I like it
