It should be really obvious - perhaps you're thinking of the Romanian Deadlift vs Straight Leg Deadlift (neither of which are a true deadlift). A deadlift starts on the floor...dead weight...on the floor...lifted from a dead standstill. You pick it up, and done. Concentric up, no eccentric unless you choose for there to be one.
SLDL is a deadlift variation where the legs are locked straight, and generally the concentric and eccentric are reversed from a true deadlift.
