dead lift/back squat

I was wondering if there is a correlation between the two. For some time I've been struggling with 185lbs on squats, but on dead lifts i'm slowly progressing.(245lbs)
just wondering if i should be able squat more and i'm just being a pussy,
thanks;)

it's different for everyone man..... there is one guy on here (extra mile) who can deadlift like 319, but can only squat 231... and then i know guys who can squat more than they deadlift. You're not being a pussy. I am a noob as well and i squat 185x5 and deadlift around 220x6 at the moment

how many reps do you do for squats?

If you Oly squat there will be less correlation than with wide stance powerlifting style.

Sounds about the right ratio to me. When your squat goes up your deadlift will go up too, and vice versa.

I'd say for a 195 bench you should have a 255 squat and 305 deadlift to be proportional. Your bench is kinda strong for your squat and deadlift.

Your back, traps, and hammys are probably stronger/more developed than your quads and ass. Deads are easier to master than squatting. Good squatting can take YEARS to get right, although you see alot of people deadlifting with poor form, it is easier to get down than squatting. Exp when it comes to big weights.

Try working around your squat. Do some front squats, hack squats, box squats, lunges, leg pressess, jump squats, heavy partials in a rack etc....dont get down about it. Just train your legs harder.

I'm all jacked up 340lb bench 225squat 405dead
I'm 185lbs recovering from a knee injury in march

Please do not take any offense to what I am about to ask - I mean it with all due respect.

With numbers skewed like that, it makes me wonder id when you started lifting, if you were part of the "bench & curl" club and worked mostly to look good in a tank top and neglected the rest of your body until you learned differently.
