i personally can't drop weight and have dairy , but there are people that can.i would take in some if you are fortunate enough that you can do it.........

i eat LF cottage cheese, and on rest days i eat about 3cups cottage cheese..........DOING PERFECTLY FINE ........i am not cutting i am leaning to loose some fat

Never knew that... that's good news. But whether it helps or notl, i can't diet or bulk w/out milk. It's one of my "gotta have its". Especially before bed, tastes really good w/ chocolate formula from proteinfactory. Whether bulking or cutting that shake is mandatory before bed.

I've been testing the theory out for the last 4 weeks or so....

On my last real cutting phase, I continued drinking skim milk whenever I felt like it.... as a source of protein, and didn't worry about the lactose. And I cut myself pretty good....

This time I've cut out the dairy in the last few weeks of my cutting phase, but I can't notice a whole lot of difference.

I think it's a myth.

i dont think it make a big diference just a small one :D
I cut out the dairy when i'm in the last fase of cutting that tends to help me get that last % off.

I think that given our high protein diets, we already take in quite a bit of animal fat. If I remember correctly, animal fat is saturated or "bad" fat. So I think that the more you can limit that the better.

The only dairy I took in was lowfat cottage cheese, but I've eliminated that as of a week ago. Not real sure yet if it will make a difference to my current cutting program. But we shall see.

No-fat milk, no-fat cottage, no-fat yogurt. remove the yogurt when cutting. The no-fat cheese taste bad why bother?
Biscuit...

You guys know if it is the lactose that causes the problems, or just dairy in general? I mean, if it is lactose, then I assume things like cottage cheese or regular cheese are OK, because they don't have A LOT of lactose, whereas yogurt and milk are out. But if it is because of some kind of problem with dairy protein that causes water retention or something, then I guess all dairy is bad when cutting. It seems like most precontest bodybuilders don't eat anything but meat and egg whites for protein, and eliminate cottage cheese, whey protein, milk protein, etc. Anyone care to elaborate?

think it depends on body type- Ill have alittle bit of milk, and I wake up the next morning, feeling nasty and bloated....

I don't think it's the fact that it's lactose, but the fact that it's a sugar.... and simple sugars like that are usually avoided while cutting.

As for regular cheese and stuff, even if there's not much lactose, there's lots of fat.

If there was a dairy product that had low lactose (sugar) AND was fat-free, I'd be all over it.

People say the sugars in milk are simple sugars and maybe they are but theyre low-glycemic.. which is what's important in my opinion.

I take in around 2 cups of milk a day and I have no problem at all with fat-loss.. and losing fat is ALWAYS a struggle for me!

8g protein per 8 oz. cant beat the price either..
:D:D

Rest days i eat about 3cups of low fat cottage cheese, how much protein from all that 96 Protein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monstar, i've been tracking this board for a while now, and i think you've been cutting since forever now! I remember you asking countless questions on various diets and even tracking your results in a thread. Can you mention the results of the various diets? I'm interested in a CKD myself in 3 months perhaps. thanks.

I think its all related to the lactose my self. Some people it causes a bit of water retention others have no problems. Lactose can effect people is many different ways. Slight intolerance may show up in the form of water retention. (actually read that when reading about lactose intolerance "my sis is intolerant") Lactose intolerance can even show up as acne hence the ance dairy rumours its a less common occurance. Gas ect.. are others.. Also to be taken into account is the fact that you may be able to digest lactose fine untill you intake a real lot of it and its just too much for the bacteria to handle.

In short I believe dairy is fine.
