Cycling HCG Every Third Month- Doc Suggestion

Ok, I recently went back to the TRT doc for a follow-up. I ‘m taking 250IU 2x week after my Testosterone injections to hopefully help prevent some of the reproductive issues in the future.
At this appointment, the doc suggested taking every third month off from HCG to prevent some type of anti-bodies from developing. Keep in mind, this break is to be conducted while I am still taking my weekly Testosterone injections.
Has anyone ever heard of this? If so, what exactly is the issue one may face by never taking a break from the HCG?

I think he may be refering to hcg shutdown! After a long run on hcg your system can begin to have the reverse affect where it actually does more harm than good.

Clozto, have you seen any studies on this?

The reason I ask is because I have seen very little yet this seems to be a common concern people have. I honestly have not done a lot of digging on the subject either but one study that is often referenced around here showed that after long periods (cant remember exact duration but it was over a year) of high dose (in excess of 1500IU) use, increasing the dose(to over 2000IU) did not yield any additional benefits. From this the conclusion was drawn that its effectiveness wanes or the body becomes desensitized.

However correlation does not equal causation. Just because no added benefit is gained from going from one high dose to a higher dose does not mean the body is less sensitive to it or that it doesnt work. It simply means there is a threshold to its effectiveness. We all know the body has various feedback loops to control hormone levels so one reason it could be that the effects of the additional 500IU was because the bodies other feedback loops kicked in to override the response that HCG would normally trigger.

Keep in mind I am not saying there is no desensitization but what I am saying is that the studies people have used to justify their theory were not designed to actually test or identify the mechanisms at work, they were simply pointing out observations made during their study.
