Cutting diet questions

viciousness

New member
I'm about to go on a cutting diet but am not sure how many Calories/Carbs/Protein/Fat I should be aiming for each day when I design the diet. If anyone knowledgable on that can offer me any insight it'd be much appreciated.

It depends on the diet. Some people do good with 40% protein / 40% carbs / 20% fat and others prefer 50% protein / 40% carbs / 10% fat

I like the 40 40 20 plan myself

You need to experiment with your maintainance level, number of calories in takes for you to stay the same bodyweight. Anything above that, you gain; anything below that you loose. You'll have to know this info before designing and stratagizing a diet.

Also, if you're entirely unsure of your maintenance requirements...a standard approach is to multiply your bodyweight (in pounds) by 12. You can adjust up or down from there - but give yourself adequate time (7 or 8 days at the very least) at a certain calorie total before adjusting - and don't lower or raise total calories by too much (500 cals. a day is usually a good adjustment).
