Creatine Misinformation

why do so many people react badly when they hear that your taking creatine?

for example, im just about to finish my first loading cycle and when my mum found out her first statement was "it'll give you cancer" she has NO idea what it is but immediatly assumes its bad.

secondly on an episode of boston public where the star baseball guy gets busted using a bunch of stuff (im not sure exactly what) but i know there was creatine in there. now im from australia so im not sure what the rules are for juniours using it in compitition over there but still..

why is it still seen as a step to far or something?

because people are ignorant and once they hear anything about muscle building supplements they think steroids. I lived in the dorms last year and one kid bought whey protein. When he was talking on the phone with his mom, his roomate was saying "you son is taking steroids" dont know if it was joking or not, but from previous experiances with that kid id say he wasnt.

anyways back to the first sentance, people are just ignorant of things. I use ignorant as uninformed, not stupid.

why are you watching that show anyhows?
:)

The public generally does not know shit about our way of life trying to be healthier and stronger. and so everything they think they know is based on rumors and what they are fed. dumbass sheep. it makes me sick too. far be it from them to actually research it themselves. creatine should be considered health food in my book. they probably threw that in there just to rile people up.

haah that show is my one week point!

yeh i think its a lot like arnie says in pumping iron, "a lot of people think this is wierd ... but to me making a car do a 1/4 mile in under 5 seconds is wierd"

Well if this was on Boston Public, then creatine must be a bad supplement or steroidal. We all know that T.V. shows don't exaggerate anything. This is how shitty little rumors get started

ye i like the show but to me it seems unreal, one episode has the same amount of events happening as all 4 years in my highschool.

haha people i think we are loosing the point of the original post here! tehehe

creatine is still really misunderstood and seen in the same light as 'roids to many people, even some people within the gym, but from what ive read its been in use for years and years but still has this aura about it.

whyyyyy?
