creatine and keto

sorry guys if i am getting you annoyed, but will creatine have any role on keto ,i mean will i still burn the fat even when takin creatine,i dont mind being bloated but as long as the fat is burning:)

Unfortunately for creatine to work it needs to be accompanied by an insulin surge. While in ketosis this is impossible. However if you are using a CKD with weekend carb up it is possible to creatine load on the weekends.

Does anyone have any comments about how effective a large dose of ALA would be for shuttling creatine, even on keto? I hear mixed reports; most say it's not really of much value.

I've tried every possible way of making creatine effective while in 'Ketosis', but it all seems to come down to one fact: creatine is just not effective in Ketosis...at least it wasn't effective for me personally, I , at the same time, cannot speak for other people's experiences.

You can enhance insulin independant uptake of muscle creatine by use of a beta agonist (Ephedrine or clenbuterol would be ideal), or T3, or both. Also make sure you aren't limiting your sodium intake. I don't know about ALA, but I wouldn't normally take ALA once I'm in ketosis.

Well please yourself, but it is very, very unlikely that the creatine caused you to barf. Creatine uptake into your muscle cells is enhanced by insulin (but insulin is not essential). However creatine absorption from your intestines is NOT enhanced with insulin. It's actually not clear to me why you would want to take creatine while in ketosis?? It's not like it's gonna improve your anaerobic weights workouts once the glycogen is depleted from your muscles. More likely it will just cause downregulation of your creatine transporters so that you'll get reduced creatine uptake when you re-introduce carbs/insulin.
