[Severe nephrotic syndrome in a young man taking anabolic steroid and creatine long term]

[Article in Hungarian]

Revai T, Sapi Z, Benedek S, Kovacs A, Kaszas I, Viranyi M, Winkler G.

Szent Janos Korhaz, II. Belgyogyaszat, Nefrologia.

Anabolic steroids and creatine supplementation is one of the current abuse used by body builders. It is less known that this combination beside of many deleterious effects may also cause renal damage. Authors report a case of diffuse membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis type I in a 22-year-old man who had been taking continuously methandion in a large quantity and 200 grams of creatine daily, and was sent to the outpatient nephrologic unit with typical clinical signs of nephrosis syndrome. They also call attention to the role of the continuously consumed creatine in the renal failure.

This is some fucked up shit, 200g of creatine daily.

small but working on it said:
that guy must have had a hollow spot in his head to begin with. What a fucking idiot. :p
I just cant image how anyone could load that much creatine in them, 200 grams is how many cups?

its a shame that legislature would create laws for these special cases of stupidity when 99% of the BB community is at least somewhat responsible with their creatine use.

Ah hell that's nothing. I take 550 gms a day of creatine and 60,000 mg. of test a week and I'm doing fine. ;)

On thing here and it is important. Do not, I repeat, do not use creatine mixed with high carb juices like OJ or grape juice. The creatine will convert to creatinine which can damage kidneys. Mix with water only.

..ok everyone (wipes tears)....i admit it....my name is POLFAJELFA and im a Protein Abuser....

:FRlol:

a few years ago i had the concentrated creatine from eas, i took to much of it by accident and almost had to go to the e.r it was a scary experience.

Does that mean leave it out of post workout shakes that include glucose?

I thought your body absorbed it poorly in the absence of carbs?

Do you have some reaserch to back that up? please post.

i doubt he does... seeing as almost every single creatine manufacturer suggests taking it with a high gi carb source

I'm sure it's not a typo, because there are plenty of guys that take 20grams of creatine per day, it isnt that much of an ammount.

I know that, I'm one of the guys that loads 20g of creatine a day... what a complete 'tard to take 200... For what you would spend on creatine a month why not just buy juice!

I thought the post was about you Ulter..Thought you went psycho when everyone else left the AF store and started to binge out on creatine... :)

CAN SOMEONE PLS XPLAIN WHAT SIMPTOMS THESE HAS?

More people die every month from aspirin related complications than have ever died from ephedra, but still they outlawed it.

Something isn't right.

First it was Tryptophan (for fuck's sake - why?)

Then it was GHB (don't use it like a moron and you won't die)

Then Ephedra

Now prohormones

What's next?

Nukdae

well bro all we can do i wait for the FDA TO FUCKIN BUST ON CREITINE NOW, same thing that happened to ephidrine.some idiot fucked it up for the rest of us.

Well if they outlaw creatine they will be doing alot of people a favor...its shit

Creatine supplementation study

Your warning made me curious, as I have always been told that adding carbs to the creatine was a good way to help get the uptake of the creatine. and I have always done so.

I dug up a few research studies on the subject, of which I have attached one below.
http://physrev.physiology.org/cgi/reprint/80/3/1107.pdf

here is a brief excerpt of section XII:

Not all of the ingested Cr can be retained in the body.
While a high proportion of Cr is usually retained in the
initial days of Cr supplementation, urinary Cr excretion
progressively increases with continued ingestion of Cr
(62, 116, 338, 583, 823, 1040). Urinary excretion of Cr can,
however, be reduced significantly by simultaneous ingestion
of carbohydrates (302, 303).

I think your off on your assumption that carbs will convert creatine into creatinine. Creatinine is a byproduct of creatine metabolism.

It is a long paper, but the sections I thought were relevant were mostly all of section section XII and to a lesser dergree section X part H.
