where did you get 12.2 from??? What is that? The person who I did the study for dragggggs with the BF numbers so I dont even bother. I just care about the skin fold #'s. I would like to know my BF though...now that I think about it but I dont wanna get discouraged since it will be too high for a contest. In the beginning of the thread, I thought i was bad at the numbers she emailed me, and later found out she gave me some else's info. O man now Im feeling the dizziness... getting pretty small right now. SHedding water like crazy . SO far Im at 1.5cup of h20 today. DOing good.... I cant wait till tomorrow. Im off to show some relatives around campus (when I should really be resting) but I think I can use some sunlight. Being cooped up inside is depressing. Im so excited, ready to take this thing HEAD ON like a good Ram should (lol). I want this to be over so I can celebrate and put some good pics up for everyone.

I just ate a pretty large sweet potato (aprox. 60g carbs) ... made fries in the oven.. and I ate them with 1 TBS honey.... IM FEELING pretty darn good. I look good and the routine is down *perfect*. I hope I dont freak out tomorrow. I tend to get nervous when it comes down to it!

I hope hope hope I can sleep tonight! I better! Im supposed to take 3-4oz. red wine before bed to aide as a diuretic. I never drink so Im prolly gonna get all goofy about it. I have to get up at 4am, shave my already non-hairy peach-fuzzed body... which is weird. I have like NO hair anywhere, I dont even shave my legs but they insist that everyone is 100% hair less. Whatever. The dreamtan should be tons of fun. I hope i dont stain my suit. Im gonna have it applied and then I will wait in front of a fan for like 30 min... that better be good enough!!

*Off to the liquor store to make my VERY FIRST LEGAL alcohol purchase! ;)

You look fantastic you should be very proud of all your hard work!

One sugestion for next years suit get them cut a bit higher in the leg makes legs look longer, waist look smaller and impoves the over all v-taper.

When I joined EF last May, I had 4 "idols"; Jens, Sassy, Bunny and Miss24k. I read their logs religiously and was in awe of their transformations. I'm adding you to my "idol" list, Aries.

I strive to achieve just half the results you have. I will do it - and looking at your photos now and again will help me.

I've been enjoying this week of relaxation. I dont know if catching up with class and feeling like a bloated cow all the time counts as relaxation lol.

I cant wait to get back to the gym. I will start a new log on monday. Im still trying to find info on diets and training that I like... but I have a pretty good idea. I have a plat membership this week and Ive been trying to figure out what to search. I wanna find some good info to save/print!! Anyone know anything good???

Right now I am struggling with what to eat. I dont have much of an appetite yet but I am VERY discusted with all the contest food. Chicken breast and tuna make me gag so hopefully by monday I will be back to normal. Ive been doing ok with oatmeal and egg whites :)

The major area that needs work at this point is my BOOTY and legs. I want to really concentrate most of my weekly training on those areas. I will need LOTS AND LOTS of good exercises so SHARE the secrets everyone!!! :) I am somewhat happy with the size of my arms and back- but I want to keep cutting them up and leaning out. I definitely want to keep cutting at this point :)

Like Sassy said, this contest was a very good way for me to pick at the areas I want to improve in. Very well said Sassy...as always:)
I am missing the gym sooooo much, I feel like a GIANT bloated pig. Well, my stomach got bigger from all the water I've been drinking. Im not commenting too much on diet. I am not eating very much but when I do, its not the healthiest stuff--not very well balanced. Cereal, milk, yogurt, FRUIT!!!Lots of carbs!!! I do feel that its mentally good for me to take this week off, but so far Im only experiencing 'negative' thoughts about my self. Darn it!! Im never happy enough...

Time to go relax before next class. Thank you all soooo much for the constant support!! You all rock my world :)
 
I'm not sure - are you stayign out of the gym just because you want to relax? You can certainly go back in & just train / do cardio. Might make you feel less bloated....

I wated to today. But Im still feeling kind of dizzy... its weird I dunno how to explain. Like when I stand up my head gets light headed.

I used to have a similiar feeling for a while there when I wasn't eating very much (my calories were prob just below 1000) but every time I would stand up I'd get dizzy too... so it could just be your body re adjusting after the contest prep diet that last week :) All in all though I am sure you'll pull through and be back in that gym kickin some butt again! The pics are all great! ;)
 
Aries, you look fantastic. The work and the dedication really paid off. I can't tell you how proud all of us are of you. I see you got the bug...It's cool as hell isn't it? Tell the Hubby he looks great too.

On the other hand, gradually try getting back to your diet. Bloating is caused mainly because during some time you deprived your body of all those things you are eating. This bloating can make you feel bad, but once you get back on track you will be eager to get more results.... that's life! we just want to keep on improving!

It is interesting that you brought up the leg workout. That is where I want to improve the most. I want to make my butt/legs + abs like my MAIN body parts. I am looking into leg exercises b.c I am planning my training/diet as we speak. I will start a new log up on Monday and will post what I will be doing for legs. I am reading a lot of mixed information.... I need to know what THE BEST leg/butt blasting exercises are b/c I want to KILL my lower body...get it really tight and cut up. I am thinking of doing:

Squats: weight-not sure yet
Lunges: weight?
Extensions:?lbs
Leg Curl:?lbs
Dead Lifts:?lbs

*Hack Squats????
***One legged squats????

All of the exercises for legs will be 3-4 sets of lower weight 15-18 reps.

**IF ANYONE KNOWS OF AWESOME LEG/BUTT exercises...PLEASE SHARE!!!! I would like to get this thing started a.s.a.p. :heart:
 
box step-ups, starting with no weights, torso leaning forward (not too far) will put emphisis on your butt. I have some killer butt & hamstring exercises but I think you may be on the east coast, a little too far to drive to show then to you. lol
Explaining them just does not cut it, because they are variations and need to be done PERFECTLY or you could get hurt. butt.... he he... the one I mentioned above is a great one, watch out though, you may end up with a jumpers booty like me.

But if you have no box, nothing safe to step up onto, or not the right height it's the leaning lunge. so I've been trying to figure out a diet plan so that I can keep cutting, maintain, and hopefully do a lot better for a contest a year from now. My main goal is to maintain overall muscle mass and drop body fat. I am not sure of how training will play into the day since I dont have a job yet BUT I am going to be doing at least 4 days of am cardio(on emty), 2 days cardio post workout (total 6 days of cardio) + 5 days weight training....maybe even 6. I want to work out 6 days a week with one day off + one cheat meal per week.

I had a debate with MH about what cardio is best. I will not be using ANY diet pills/stimulants...so AM cardio will be a DRAG. He is saying that there is not a big difference between am cardio and later in the day. I thought that am cardio is done on empty so the body can use fat stores for energy. Am I right about this?? Should I just stick to am cardio or does it not matter??? The mission this summer is to get the lower body REALLY cut up!!! I want this ass gone and my leg muscles showing darn it!!!! LOL

So here's what I cooked up. PLEASE PLEASE COMMENT and let me know what you think. Should i try a different split other than 40/30/30??? Less or more cals?? All that good stuff......

10-12 X weight(lbs) in calories-

1500-1800 calories

40% CHO/30% Protein/30% Fat

600-720 calories CHO........150-180 grams CHO per day

450-540 calories Protein.........115-135 grams Protein per day

450-540 calories Fats.........50-60 grams Fat per day

Sample day:

Meal 1: 8egg whites, 1/2c oatmeal (splenda + cinnamon)
Meal 2: 6oz. Yogurt, 1c strawberries/fruit
Meal 3: protein (yields 20-30g), carb serving (yield 30g carbs) ex... 5oz. Chicken breast,1 Large apple
Meal 4: 1oz. Almonds, 1 medium apple/yield 1c fresh fruit or veggies
Meal 5: 5-6oz. Fish/ protein source, 1c broccoli (green veggie source), small sweet potato/carbs yield 20-30g
Meal 6: 1oz. Almonds (fat source...peanuts,NPB,cashews), 1scoop whey (yield 15g Protein-any source)

Example day Totals :

Calories: 1634
Carbohydrate: 181 grams, 586 calories, 40%
Protein: 122 grams, 487 calories, 33%
Fat: 45 grams, 401 calories, 27%

If you consider that you've burned thru your "carb based" energy during a weight lifting session and then do cardio, you're essentially in an "empty stomach" state. Further you can consider yourself "empty stomach" if you're beyond roughly 2.5 hr since your last meal -- if food metabolizes w/in that time, your last meal should've been mostly metabolized by then. Or if you have a non-fat meal prior to your cardio, carb + protein should be metabolized in even less time. To that end you can sit & debate which is "optimal", but the general state of no carb-energy available is there post training or prior to your next scheduled meal.

everyone is saying that the show was "rigged". Men's class judging was even worse. SO UNFAIR!! The show was pretty much about who was favored more over another person. By the way, the girl in yellow is the ex workout partner. She did not change at all in 13 weeks and still got better placing than me. I know its not about who changed the most.... but girl in blue placed better than me??? what?? Thats why I was mad but I cant be. Its ok, POLITICS are always like this. Many things were learned in this countdown to competition. :)

So what if the show was rigged. Is this really about the show or you pushing the limits and doing what you and others thought you couldn't do? You made an amazing transformation. You've gained tons of knowledge. You garnered support from women all over the country.

GREAT WORK!!! :)) ... the girl in the yellow appeared to have more mass up top of offset her bottom & the "V" ... cappage of the delts, etc ... I think a suggestion was made on the suit to enlongate your legs, but for your 1st show you already know you kicked some major ass and showed the ladies on here how it's done ...

Any chance body shot of 1st place winner?

I wouldn't get too caught up in the whole judging conspiracy thing or worry about the politics of the show. Just look at how you can be better and what you can do to improve yourself.

Its all good. The whole experience is over and done and Ive learned what I was hoping to learn. I cant wait till next time!!!! Now, did anyone read my post about diet???? I wanna post up my new log today :)

Its all good. The whole experience is over and done and Ive learned what I was hoping to learn. I cant wait till next time!!!! Now, did anyone read my post about diet???? I wanna post up my new log today :)

I agree with Sassy ... although I think it'd be interested to try a 40 C 30 P 30 F so we can look to you for your opinion on it ... DEF DO NOT go 60 C if you are training ...

work back in good foods, fruits & veggies & dairy even like m24k had suggested for off season diet ... get those foods back in there for health
