It's clear brothers and sisters - we need to band people together to get the bullshit political influence out of the FDA. This is out of hand.
1. Cigarrettes are legal. Questions?
2. Tryptophan was made illegal due to one "bad batch" of tryptophan. Here's an amino that helped so many people sleep and fight depression. How could a bad batch of the stuff cause them to make it illegal? Sheer insanity. Insanity... Heh - on that note, some theorize that the whole thing was lobbied by the drug companies to facilitate the sale of prozac et. al. Who could sell prozac when an OTC amino bumps on seratonin levels so effectively?
3. PPA - yeah, perhaps there were a few odd cases where it *may* have been associated with a couple of deaths. Clearly not nearly as many as tobacco.
... and the list goes on.
When political influence has more weight than the overall benefit for our citizens in decisions of drug regulation, we have a serious problem in this country.
Think about it - certain people in power are taking away your right to ingest certain chemicals that can improve tour health and well-being. This is a serious crime in my mind and it needs to end.
