Confused: Exactly how many calories are in oats?

How many calories are in regular oats...say 1 cup? Online databases are not helping me because they keep giving different answers!

When I buy oats, I usually go to the bulk section of my grocery store (hey, its cheaper!). There are two kinds of oats there: "Regular oats" and "instant oats". Regular are whole oats while instant seem smaller or chopped up. I always get the regular ones...but how many calories are in them? Thankyou

oats
1/2 cup serving
cals 150
fat 3g
carbs 27g
fiber 4g
sugar 1g
protein 5g

keep using the regular whole oats.

What's so bad about instant? I prefer instant since I grind them up into a powder anyway. Saves a little bit of time for me and probably not as much wear and tear on my blender. I never eat oatmeal how it should though..

well i dont buy into all the goofy science, but i do beleive that the more a food is processed the less fresh it is when you get it. whole raw oats are processed less that instant oats. i thing with all food the more fresh it is when you eat it the better it is for you.

i eat my oats raw. no cooking at all. i also eat my veggies this way and keep my meat rare. i think this all helps in multiple ways. of course as with everything we do there is a medical down side.

Hey guys is it okay to eat regular oats semi raw?

I have a big container of regular oats. I've been microwaving it with a little bit of water for a minute. When it's done it isn't all mushy, but soft enough to consume.

Is it still healthy eating it this way? I usually just eat it for the carbs and not the taste.

i read it off of my can of oats. most foods you can find all of the info on the website of the company that packages the food.

i eat my oats raw in milk with some other cereal mixed in. Usually frosted flakes or something a little sweet. Barely need to add any and makes it delicious with not TOO much neg impact to diet. Since your cutting maybe try some corn flakes with splenda

I see. The reason I'm confused is because Fitday, which is considered a good website gives me two different values. It says that "Oats: have 600 calories per cup. Another listing of "Raw Oats" have 300 calories. Why?
