So they spare the guy the death penalty because the jury cited "combat stress" and "lack of leadership" as to how a man can shoot a whole family, rape the 14 year old daughter, than shoot her in the face too. If this was "combat stress", that tells you enough about war, and specifically wars that have no true positive motivation behind them like the Iraq war. But I'm not buying it........the dude was a psycho and war stress just brought it out of him. Combat stress is when there's a sniper in a building who just shot one of your buds and you bring some artillery down on the whole building killing everyone just to get that one guy, "THAT" I have some understanding for. What this soldier did defies combat stress. They just wanted pussy and they knew they had to off the whole frickin family to cover their tracks.

Is it war or is it the diminishing pool of quality recruits the military has to work with cause nobody of any caliber wants to fight and/or possibly die on behalf of washington politician's?

war can do crazy shit to even normal people. let alone the fuckin gun crazy hillbilly high school drop out fucks that the military recruits.

its just a bad combination all together. i've almost always looked at the military as a last resort for people "who have no other options".

Anyone who has served realizes just how fucked up your mind can get when dealing with death, tragedy and people spitting and yelling at you all day can do. Hell even during boot camp, I saw young kids just freaking out, trying to kill themselves, doign bat-shit stuff. Now imagine then in a warzone.

It's war. Bad shit happens when bad shit is happening to you too. He was wrong of course, but you can't apply civilian laws to people who are trained to kill and might have mental problems from the get-go (go blame the military for lowering standards to laughable levels and pumping them full of every drug known on the planet).

Soldier: Sgt I can't handle this. My minds stressed, family stress, death everywhere, I'm getting pissed off beyond belief at these ragheads, and i'm on tons of drugs. I need to go home before I do something bad.

The reputation of the US military was lost the day we lost vietnam, had somalis drag dead us soldiers through the streets, let Osama kill 3,000 and let him get away with it, fucked up at abu gharib which only helped al qaeda recruit more people to attack us, and then leaving iraq and afghanistan in 10x worse shape than we went in. Any more countries we can fuck up before the world can't wait to see us crash and be destroyed?

If we can't even beat Iraq, imagine taking on Iran, North Korea or Russia? Saudi's can destroy us in one day by raising gasoline prices.

Outside the US, people aren't scared by the US military anymore. The days of 1940's killing Nazis are long gone.

All we have to do now, is attack Iran - the source of oil for many asian countries - and then watch as the world works together to destroy us economically. It's already begun btw.

THis incident wouldn't have happened if we would have hit it and quit it in Iraq. No, our fucking master tacticians in DC decide that military domination isn't enough.........we need to secure the country and it's resources for our personal gain. Human soldiers cannot endure that. We can't even secure a 3rd world country. Our ability to do anything now is moot. Hell, we can't even afford it! In 20 years, China, Russia, India will have far more military power than us anyways.

Our response will of course be privatization of the military to blackwater, dyncorp. Which we all know is the future after losing war and after war with our antiquated military strategies. We still train soldiers like it's D-Day storming the beach looking for nazis.
