ok... here is a question...

if I am in ketosis and absolutely carb free in my body... and I completely binge out on carbs and eat a ton and then vomit it all up.... how does that affect me....?

does insulin still spike...?

then what happens with the insulin level spiked but with no carbs in me, do I burn more, burn less fat... what?

someone please help me out here...

This is a strange question to say the least, but here is
your answer:

Ketosis can only occurr when liver Glycogen is
emptied.
I'll assume that you've also depleted muscle
glycogen from subsequent workouts
while in Ketosis.

Now, you said you ate a massive carb meal then
vomited?

-Some carbs ARE still processed.

You have to look at the molecular structure of the
carbs you are eating.

Fructose primarily refills liver glycogen which is bad
in your case, since it will keep you out of
Ketosis.

Sucrose(A fructose-glucose molecule) refills both
muscle and liver glycgen effectively also
keeping you out of Ketosis.

Glucose is your best bet as it primarily refills
muscle glycogen leading to a huge Insulin spike
but Ketosis after.(akin to the mid-week
glucose carb-up on a CKD)

Lactose is a Galactose-glucose molecule that
should re-fill muscle glycogen primarily.
So, it should be fine to use aso.

Weird question Btw.

So, the answer to your question is that if you kept the
carb choices to glucose-based and lactose-based
carb choices you should be in Ketosis.
If not, then you'll be out of Ketosis.

Yes I am having trouble understanding the answer as well....

I am in ketosis now.....

lets say I eat a ton of carbs and then puke them up...

should I remain in ketosis... if I get knocked out will I get back in quicker since my carb stores are very low?

What?

You will get knocked out. But since your muscle glycogen
stores are very low, most(if not all) of the carbs you actually
process will go to re-filling them. So, you should be
back in Ketosis in no time.
