CKD Question

Should someone really only try this diet it they are closer to 10-15% BF? I am currently 27% BF and still appear to be gaining muscle and losing fat on a very strict diet of 6 meals a day. I have been going to a BOD POD every 3 months for the past 6 months and I have gained muscle(10 lbs) and lost 8% BF since then. I know once you get closer to 10% BF it gets harder and harder to shed off those last few lbs.

You can use a CKD or keto diet now if you wish.

At your body fat %, an important factor is getting in good conditioning (cardio wise and endurance wise.) And it's important to eat clean of course... And of course the most important factor is your calories balance vs energy expenditure. At your point if you are burning more cals than you consume, and are losing at an acceptable rate, then there isn't much of a need to change anything.

When you plateau on your current diet, then you can switch to keto... Or start now and see what happens.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with keto diets. Right now, I am loving them because it's keeping my satisfied and my mind off of food. And i'm on the final part of my journey.

The choice is yours of course

Yeah I really hate the choice I have to make right now, I would prefer to keep putting on muscle and increasing my strength maybe almost more then I want to get to 10% BF and show a 6-pack etc....Its really a shame that its so hard to gain muscle and lose BF % at the same time I may just shoot to preserve muscle as much as I can soon and go into a bigger calorie deficit to get the BF% down then work on getting the muscle back...

At your bodyfat %, I'd definitely focus on getting lean first. Get down 10-12% body fat and then focus on staying there while putting the rest of your desired size on. By then you will feel/look great and can then focus on getting down in to the 8-10% range... Then focus on staying there and putting on the rest of your desired size.
