My typical carb-up day usually goes as follows:

4am: 2 apples, banana

6am: depletion w/o

8am: cell-tech/40gm whey/10gm glutamine/6iu humulin R

every 2hrs later i take 4iu of humulin+carbs

9am: .5 serving cell-tech/50gm whey/10gm glut/candy:)

every 1.5 hrs eat sugary carbs(NO FRUCTOSE)+prot....

last 2 meals....6pm .5 serv cell-tech/whey/4iu slin
8pm 50gm Pure Whey Prot/4iu slin

i usually hit around 1500gm of carbs

I keep fat to an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM AS CLOSE TO ZERO AS I CAN

Usually i dont spill over too much...

A diet high in carbs and fat is what causes obesity, not high fight alone, and in a lot of cases, not high carb alone. Its kind of a pick and choose, and find a happy medium search.

whats the reason for zero fat on carb-up days?

What KWKSLVR said was correct BUT in addition to that, the reasons are:

1) On my carb-up day as you can see i am using insulin and a good amount, sometimes 30iu a day. With that much insulin running around in my system i avoid all fat i can because insulin stores fat too....in adipose tissue....So avoiding fat allows me to minimize any fat gain that may occur.

2) Another reason is i only carb-up for around 12hrs or so....maybe a little longer. With such a short time to be consuming 1500gm of carbs i dont want fat to slow down the digestion/absorption.

The main reason is what what Mr BMJ alluded to.

It takes your body 24-36 hours to kick into lipogenesis, or converting carbs to body fat, during a refeed.

But if you're eating above maintenance, your body WILL store dietary fat quite nicely. So the idea is to eat very high carbs to reset leptin levels, but very low fat to prevent much fat from being stored.
