Chron's disease (steriods help!)

Does anyone here have chron's disease of the colen, my doctor tried to put me on predisone a steriod. I told him about all the steriods I have done and he said that bodybuilding steriods were much safer. so on my own I started to do them on my own. and I dont have to take my stupid cancer causing medication (ASACOL).
does anyone else use as for this? if so any tips for witch as is the best to keep chron's in remission.

Listen to your dr, and don't self medicate with roids.

Gh would be the best if you are over 25.

I have Crohn's disease and have been running anabolics and androgens for about 2 years off and on. Prednisone is TERRIBLE stuff. TERRIBLE!!!!!!! I have been on it many times as a teenager and young adult BUT NEVER AGAIN will I go on this shit!!!! It has VERY heavy side effects. Supressess your immune system to nothing and it MURDERS your liver. Not to mention it weakens your bones, causes a moonface worse than D-bol could ever give you..... Then for icing on the cake, it plays havock with your mental state and can give you EXTREME mood swings... You think Anadrol is bad for you? It is a walk in the park compared to prednisone.

I have had crohns for 12 years now and was on prednisone many time's the first few years i had crohn's. A far as "bodybuilding" steroids i haven't found any that i would say keep it in remission,i'd concentrate on diet and a healthy lifestyle for that. Anadrol though is the only oral that has ever caused me any discomfort and that wasn't that bad. I do use a over the counter pill that seem's to do really well with controlling crohn's,it's called Digestive Advantage,Crohn's & Colitis. maybe he is talking about designer steroids because they are different than AAS, the only thing is they mainly come in oral form.but the good thing is they are still legal because they have not been added to the black list. there is a thread about them in this forum.

i have crohns and have done every anabolic under the moon and also do gh. I wouldnt say any of it helps crohns except for if maybe one of your symptoms are waisting.

Long term use can cause type 2 diabetes and if you are diabetic while on your glucose will be well over 200 while taking it. long term can also give you what is called prednisone skin. it is paper thin and tears easily.

I don't get this, prednisone has the opposite effect of an anabolic compound! It is suppose to supprese the ability of our bodies to produce white cells the main cause of uncontrolable intestine growth and irritation. Anabolic steroids makes muscle grow just the opposite........Not a doctor but I would think anabolic compounds would be the last thing to do

if I remember the OP was saying he was done wth prednisome or his MD wanted him to take them but he did not like the sides. Prednisome long term is a bitch and causes more harm than good IMO. I think the posters are using deductive reasoning with the two type of roids, saying one builds why not use that for chrons. I doubt it has any affect on chrons but hey who knows. i doubt there any studies showing it would work or not work.
