Okay, it LOOKS like the only downside to Progresso's chicken noodle soup is the high sodium, but in terms of bodybuilding, how does chicken noodle soup feel for everyone? It's tasty, hot, has veggies, chicken and some carbs.
I didn't say "for bodybuilding"; I ENJOY it, so I was wondering how it would fit into a bodybuilding diet(ie stay away from it, ok once in a while, whatever).
I would stay away from it, the sodium levels are through the roof. One can yields about 2,328.25 MG of sodium!!! You might as well just eat a cup of salt.
I generally hate all soups. I've recently survived (so far) a major flu so I've eaten chicken noodle soup with saltines 2 days in a row, and have managed to have kept it down.
Really, unless you have a BB contest coming up, high BP, or some other SPECIFIC reason to avoid sodium, don't sweat the salt.
I like homemade soups as well. I make my own chicken noodle/chicken brown rice soups as well. I take a whole, un cooked chicken and skin it. Then I cut off most of the meat. Then I throw the meat and the bones in some water with pepper, carrots, celery, a little sodium free salt, an onion and a few garlic cloves. I boil everything for two hours. Take out the bones, skim the fat, and some brown rice and cook for another 30 minutes. Delicious.
