Cheap food

Hello, nooby here, just want some advice for my diet please.

I have three meals a day and 4-6 scoops of my whey protein a day. I eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and dont eat junk food.

However, I have a fast metabolism, even when I eat loads and sit down all day I don't put on much weight. I thought maybe the whey scoops would be enough to start bulking me up (I am pretty skinny) but it looks like I am wrong.

So what simple food can you guys recommend me? Ideally I would like something I can just buy and dont have to prepare, something I can just pour out of the packet onto my plate/bowl and eat. I am not fussy about taste! :D

Thanks guys, let me know what you think.

PS I am 22 and 6'6

Could just do what I do and make a sandwich.

Whole Wheat Bread 2 slices (220 cals, 6g protein)
Thick spread of peanut butter, both sides 6 servings (1140 cals, 48g protein)
Mustard (10 cals)
Turkey A slice or two (100 Cals, 10g protein approx)

So all in all I eat one of those things a day and am getting approx 1500 cals and about 65G of protein as well.

i like all of the things in that sandwich, but i dont know if i could eat them all together. i agree with sandwiches to gain weight. cottage cheese. canned tuna. milk. i cook once a week; prepare chicken fajitas, grilled chicken breast, tuna and black bean caserol, and chili. i cook multiple items at the same time, takes about an hour and a half. its enough food to make up my main meals for a week and all i have to do is reheat. maybe try that?

A cheap meal is just add oats and skim milk powder (I'm not sure in the US, but in Australia can get the equivalent of 12 litres of milk from skim milk powder for $4 US).

Add an egg or 2 to it (whole).

100 grams of oats, + 500 mls of milk, + 1 egg might cost 70 cents and have 600 calories and 40 grams protein
