i know the diet isn't perfect but i also know it never will be either...my lifestyle is crazy with my jobs so eating as good as I do is a very big plus...but when compared, my snack foods aren't that bad...pizza and the cheese for the burrito yes...but cheeseburger is lean (93/7) and cooked on a foreman grill to release even more fat juices and my buffalo chicken is just grilled chicken with a little buffalo sauce to dip into for flavor...bagels are wheat and eaten in the morning so they get burned off pretty quick...

but going from almost 40% BF a few years back to 18% is a huge drop and success if I do say so myself...but i do appreciate all the info and help and im actually surprised that more people haven't said HELL NO to the cardio on the poll

Well you didn't mention that you were at 40% before now. That is very impressive. Good job. Are you trying to get ripped or just loose some more BF?

man, all you have to do is go on 1500 calorie low carb restricted diet with cardio for a month and you'll be below 10% and not have to worry about it again. Then just eat like you do maintain the new bodyfat level.

This makes no sense. Each individual is different. If he is trying to preserve muscle mass then by dropping calories this low he would be "starving" his body and the weight loss would not happen at all. BAD IDEA.

+1...as stated before, 1500 calories ED for me would basically kill me...i burn that many calories just in my morning workouts...not to mention, i think the point he doesn't realize is that when you starve a body like mine that much, yes, i would drop the BF% down to 10% or so but i'd also lose ALL of the muscle in my body cuz i would need to pull energy from somewhere to keep going throughout the day...1500 cal. diets work great for skinny guys or guys who dont really care about what that kind of diet can do to them but it just doesn't work for most of us...

losing weight is like getting bigger and stronger in the gym...if you do it over a longer period of time, it is much easier to maintain and to also keep those gains and/or losses...if you gain 30lbs. in 3 weeks from juice or drop 50lbs. from a crash diet in 2 months, you will lose the weight very quickly that you gained from juice and the dieter will ultimately end up gaining more back then they lost in the long run once the crash diet is over...

as stated before, i used to be 40% BF and now float around 18%...i can drop my weight down to the high 190's when off juice and chill around 230-240lb. while on...but no matter what weight i'm at, i have never dropped below 15% BF which is why of late, i've seriously jumped up my cardio while on...

PS...i have a seen alot of these damn threads lately and it disgusts me...NO KIDS (those of you under 21) should even consider doing steroids, no matter what the circumstances are...no one here condones it nor recommends it so stop asking... sorry guys, had to throw it out there

I'm sure this has been done before but I haven't seen any threads in a while and i'm curious as to everyone's opinion of cardio while "ON"...let me know what you do and why...

personally, i do 45 minutes per day 6x per week minimum off juice and especially while "ON"...i'm not a big fan of bloating/blowing up...i like the leaner look myself...

5'11 235lbs. 18% BF (abs are always my problem cuz of those damn carbs)

cardio training: all in the am, 6am to be exact, on an empty stomach
M-F
30 minutes eliptical trainer
15 minutes stair master
15-30 treadmill - medium jog at speed 5.5
i alternate between the treadmill and eliptical

Saturday
1 hour minimum - racquetball followed by stairmaster for 15 minutes

even for hard gainers, I heard somewhere that when ur on the sauce, it is good to do at least some cardio while on, I heard it gets the blood flowing, helps the juice get going, dont know if thats true, but I always try to get at least 30 to 45 min a week of cardio in for me. and Im a hard gainer, when im not on juice i barely do any cardio at all, except for walking to class.

IMO cardio is best placed while on cycle. You got a shitload of gear running through you, cardio is not in the least going to hinder your muscle gains. If you can drop fat and add muscle, you'll transform your physique much better that way. Even a bulking cycle should incorporate full cardio workouts. Extra fat doesn't help you do anything, it only makes your cutting phases more work. Getting the maximum amount of muscle will come down to your training and protein intake. Doing cardio to keep fat, bloat and other things in check is always a good thing.
