Cardio Equipment- What Kind Do You Own???

Fellas, what kind of Cardio Equipment do you own? I'm thinking about buying a piece of equipment to add to the Power Rack & Weights I'm going to buy. The only thing I have now is a Leather Jump Rope, which I haven't started using, yet.:D I don't know if it'll be better to get a Treadmill or a Stepper. I'm close to getting everything I need in my effort to lose bodyfat.

Sprinting up and down the street makes you look like a maniac.....but it's effective...and incredibly inexpensive :)

There's a middle school with a running track near my house. It's "MY" track.

I also have a jump rope somewhere.

ya but sprinting on cement isnt great on the knees......If you have the money i would go to a discount sporting good store and buy a elliptical machine

I also have a Stair Master 4000PT, a recumbant Bike and pace master pro-plus treadmill...
I'm pretty sure its all industrial stuff....

I have a PRECOR machine in the so-called "workout room" in our basement LOL what a joke . all that is in there is the PRECOR LMAO and the room is like 8 ft X 8 ft. im about ready to knock down the wall and get some real equipment and really piss my parents off

A 550 tire and a sled...

I wish I could afford a good Stair Master/Stepper. The only thing I can afford is a Treadmill, but most of the home variety aren't made for people over 250lbs.:( Plus, I have a repaired ACL in my left knee. So, I have to be EXTRA careful.

My stair stepper was like $200 or so. Most treadmills I see are $500-$1500. Where are you lookin'?

I have a 7 foot ceiling So I could`nt get a treadmill.

I purchased a recumbant bike. It`s more comfortable than an upright while still getting a good workout.

Joker, I've been looking on line and haven't come across any good deals on Stair Steppers. $200 you said! What brand do you have?

I can't remember the brand name off-hand, (I'm not at home right now.) but I got it a GI Joes a few years ago. I'll check it when I get home and edit this post with the brand name.:) Yeah, it was right around $200 or so.

I've been looking in the newspaper for a good deal with no luck. In the meatime, I guess I'm stuck with Jumping Rope on a rubber mat. The mat REALLY takes the pressure of my joints, especially my ACL.

Are you getting a good cardio workout from the Stepper? I think I'm stuck out on that one. The maximum weight requirement is 250lbs and I'm 270lbs...:(

Yes, I get a pretty good cardio workout on it. I am also using it to build up some stamina in my quads. (A weakness that was identified at Bluegrass.) I couldn't see a treadmill doing that for me.:)

I weigh 220-225, and have it set at 3-4. I can't imagine you being to heavy for it at 270. Just set it higher, and step a little faster.:)

If you can, try one out at a store near you. Doesn't have to be the same one, just one that has the same weight rating. See if it works for you. Nuthin' to lose.:)

Ya....seriously, if you're really gonna do sprints, do em on grass or a track.

I've been using the bike a lot lately myself.

No matter what you buy, try to get it used somewhere first.
The paper.....or if you have a 'Play it Again' sporting goods store around you. They sell used stuff. U can save loads that way.

Try some double jumps with the jump rope. That will give you some great cardio and improve your coordination at the same time.
